Great introduction to Dahn Yoga philosophy,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
In this book, Grand Master Ilchi Lee explains the philosophy and goals of the Dahn Yoga system that he created in 1985 in Korea under the name of "Dahn Hak" (the study of energy) which began with one student in a park and now has 150 centers in the US and 600 worldwide. Dr. Lee revived a 5,000-year-old Korean tradition of humanitarianism to help the world today, one individual at a time.
"Brain Wave Vibration" teaches us to understand our brains in a powerful way that is new to most people. This is an important book both for Dahn Yoga students and for anyone who wants to gain greater physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Mainstream medicine relies on drugs and surgery and alternative medicine uses a less invasive approach with supplements, herbs, nutrition, acupuncture, etc. However, neither teaches people the importance of the mind/body connection and the correct use of our brains which Ilchi Lee shows through Dahn Yoga to be the key to health, happiness, and peace. Dahn Yoga is a multi-faceted system that includes daily classes, healing sessions, workshops, special classes, a martial arts program, a youth program, a healer school, etc. All of these reflect the philosophy expressed in the letters "HSP" which are on Dahn Yoga uniforms. They stand for "Health, Smile, Peace" and represent physical, emotional, and spiritual health. As individuals achieve these goals, they create healthier families, communities, and nations -- a saner, healthier world. Dahn Yoga teaches us to take care of our bodies, to "play well with others", to value the Earth which is our common source of identity, and to connect to the universal energy in which we are all one. Dr. Lee's ultimate goal is to create millions of enlightened people to help save the planet at this time when life on Earth is threatened because of misguided thinking. The value of Dahn Yoga is immediately apparent, but its true profundity takes time to grasp. When I joined Dahn Yoga in September, 2006, I was impressed by the simplicity and effectiveness of the classes, the power of the healing sessions, the warm sense of community, and the number of books and CDs by Dr. Lee. The classes are not difficult, but the exercises quickly enhance flexibility and strength because they are based on a deep understanding of the energy systems of the body. However, it was not until July, 2008 when I did the 3-day Liver Cleanse fast at the Dahn Yoga resort in upstate New York that I began to understand more fully what makes Dahn Yoga so special. The headmaster at my center in Manhattan recommended the Liver Cleanse because I had had a pain in the liver for several months. The fasting program provided an opportunity to change eating patterns, to address emotional issues, and to learn more about the mind/body connection. After the fast, the pain disappeared. I was impressed that Dahn Yoga has a resort in such a healing setting in the Catskills -- and similar resorts in Canada, Arizona, and Korea. I also gained a deeper appreciation of the value of the mind/body connection. After the fast, I read "Brain Wave Vibration" and re-read Dr. Lee's "Human Technology" book Human Technology: A Toolkit For Authentic Living. I highly recommend both. They can change your life and change the world.

I smile more than I used to,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
While I am not a physicist, my common sense tells me that vibration is a fundamental and essential characteristic of all animate creatures and inanimate things. Everything vibrates at the level of cells or electrons. But even though I know this fact, I never thought about applying it to my life. When I first heard about Brain Wave Vibration, this knowledge made the method sound plausible and I decided to try it.
While reading the book I realized that I had been already shaking my head gently whenever I felt distracted by a lot of thoughts or when I had mild headaches. I followed the author's guidance for 10 minutes for several days. While I didn't have amazing experiences like those in the testimonials in the book such as curing polyruria or other diseases, it did feel great when people in my office told me that I was smiling more than I used to. Since I spend most of the day in front of the computer, I usually have pain in my neck and shoulders. Doing Brain Wave Vibration for only about 10 minutes relieves some of it. I don't exercise much and I have a lot of stress from work, my financial situation, etc. I make it worse by repeating stressful situations over and over in my mind. Now whenever negative thoughts bother me, I close my eyes and begin to shake my head very gently. Soon I feel more refreshed and my mind is clearer. I think the benefits I've received from the book have more than made up for what I paid for it.

simple but powerful,
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
I enjoyed this book a lot!~ Brain Wave Vibration is very simple-yet so powerful! I have felt so much lighter, brighter and happier since beginning BVW. What i like about this practice is that it's something that I can share easily with everyone, you don't have to be a certain body type or have certain experience to do this. Everyone can do it! This book also gave me a lot of answers to many questions I've had my whole life: why am I here? What can I do to heal myself and heal others? I highly recommend it. It's a short, easy read yet it yields many insights and awakenings. Thank you for BVW!!

A simple technique steeped in ancient wisdom,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
This latest manual and guidebook by Ilchi Lee delivers a profound, yet highly accessible self-healing methodology - Brain Wave Vibration. His tone - heartfelt, eloquent, and necessarily urgent - depicts our society in the throes of an infantile temper tantrum: selfish and unconsciously destructive. Lee's solution is simple - we must all awaken to the natural wisdom and healing power of our own brains. His offering to this end is a series of powerful holistic exercises designed to help us reconnect to the rhythm of our bodies and the universe - allowing us in the process to access and utilize this dormant potential within. Whether you are looking for a consistent practice and philosophy for self-improvement or just a "quick fix" stress reliever handbook, "Brain Wave Vibration" is sure to take its place among the "A-List" books on your shelf.

This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
I have a hard time meditating with all the noise in my head. So many things on my list and people I need to see. Life just seems to keep speeding up. I was given this book by my friends and I tried it. Brain wave vibration is easy and the results started happening right away. I felt quiet in my head and grounded in my body just after the first night I tried this technique. I have been practicing this now for three weeks and I have witnessed so many positive changes in my life. My emotions are easier for me to handle. I feel lighter and I seem to be getting more things done with less effort. I CAN MEDITATE AND HAVE QUIET IN MY HEAD.

Lifelong Wellness,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
This easy-to-read primer for lifelong wellness is based on brain science and Ilchi Lee's life's work in brain education. What may be a strange-sounding concept -- brain wave vibration -- actually is a natural form of movement that anyone at any age can practice for better health. The effect can be profound -- tension and stiffness release, clearer thinking, easy smile. The book will remind even longtime students of Dahnhak, the form of yoga Ilchi Lee developed and has taught for three decades, about the healing power we all have within ourselves. Of course, we have to choose to use it, and in this book, the visionary Ilchi Lee tells us how.

If You Have a Brain, You Need to Read This Book!,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
I have read most of Ilchi Lee's books and so I was eager to read his latest one in what has become a fascinating and valuable series of philosophical and practical books about the human brain and how to improve it in order to benefit our lives, those around us and indeed the entire world through the ripple effects.
There is something fresh and compelling about Brain Wave Vibration (BWV). It makes a careful, grounded and imaginative case for the healing capacity of the brain and how we can use a method like BWV to put our brains in a powerful state that can benefit our physical health, mental functioning and even spiritual attainment. With the case solidly made on medical, health and healing evidence, BWV gets to explaining the methods. I tried them and they work. My daily 15 or so minutes of BWV clear and calm my brain, and then activiate a flow of energy that is good for my body's, mind's and soul's processes and performance. This is a small book with a big message. This is about a simple technique capable of producing profound results. If you have a brain, they take care of it and improve it so that you can live a better life -- in terms of health, happiness, peace and success. This book speaks of hope and then presents a manual for greater brain health. Since all roads -- body, mind, emotions and soul -- lead to and from the brain, then a book like BWV that helps people heal and enhance their brains is an extremely valuable book for humanity.

Easy but Powerful,
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
Reading the book, Brain Wave Vibration for the first time introduced me to refreshing and exciting beginnings. Today I am practicing Brain Wave Vibration daily. Over the last several months I can sense a vast difference in my daily choices and attitude. This is an exciting journey and one of powerful change.
Brain Wave Vibration practice allows me to enjoy many benefits; (a) my normal reactive way of thinking is shifting to a more quiet "in the moment thinking", (b) a more relaxing attitude in my daily life, (c) my sleep in now uninterrupted. I am not getting up several times in the night and (d). an awareness of my physical condition and how small aches are slowly disappearing. I recently stopped asking how could this compulsive, sometimes angry, unsettled person change and change so quickly? What is going on?. Why is this simple method giving me what I have been looking for? Why is there a smile on my face for no reason? These questions are answered by reading and implementing what is in the Brain Wave Vibration book. I continue to simply move my body, understand more about my brain and let go and accept. None of this comes without frequent simple practice and I continue to practice because I like what is happening inside myself. I am now reading the book a second time. My eyes are opening wider as I re-read the concepts that are so easy and yet so powerful. Thank you to Ilchi Lee for his gift of good, clear information. This is a definite excellent read and reference to a happier life..... Harmony (Joy) Venegas, New York

Useful Book,
By
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
I have had the pleasure to practice Brain Wave Vibration at my Yoga studio before reading this book, so for me, many things were familiar. But I can say even if you have never practiced any BWV this book would be very helpful for you.
Basically, what Ilchi Lee is trying to say it: 1. "Everyone has a brain. 2. Our entire life experience is processed through the brain. 3. If we can learn to better manage our brain and understand our brain, we can have Health, Happiness and Peace." These are not his exact words, but that is a basic idea. Because everyone has a brain, this technique is not limited to any type of person, or personality. Anyone can benefit because BWV brings balance to the whole person. If someone has too much energy, BWV can be used to calm them down. If someone lacks energy, BWV can reenergize them. Because BWV is a simple and unlimited technique, there is something for anyone to gain through practicing. Personally, one miracle that I can say happened to me: I was born with a condition of my eyes call amblyopia. Or "lazy eye" That means that my left eye is much weaker than my right eye, causeing it to turn towards the nose. I have worn corrective lenses my whole life, glasses and contacts, to keep my eyes straight. I began practicing BWV consistantly since Oct of 07. I believe April of 08, about 6 months into practicing BWV at my Dahn Yoga Studio, I realized that my eye had changed. I had broken my glasses, and I had no contacts at that time. I was forced to go without lenses for over a week. Usually, after a few hours, my left eye has gone "limp" and turns inside. But I was amazed because 1 day, 2 days, 3 and 4 days passed, my eye never turned back in! This is a miracle, because my optomotrist had told me there is nothing to be done, except wear lenses for the rest of my life. Thinking back, I realized that through BWV, several times in the previous 6 months, I had felt an extreme throbbing sensation in my left optic nerve where the brain connects to my eye. I had thought at the time, "oh, thats my weak eye" but I had never thought it could heal like this. Now, I can go for weeks without glasses or contacts, and my eyes stay straight. My Vision isn't 100%, but my optomotrist was really impressed with the improvement. So, I can say 1st hand Brain Wave Vibration works for huge range of different conditions. One of Ilchi Lee's favorite concepts is that of Hope, and I can see now what he means: Anything is possible.

Didn't need a book for this technique,
By BlueBell (NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Brain Wave Vibration: Getting Back into the Rhythm of a Happy, Healthy Life (Paperback)
The author states that one does not need to dedicate a whole books to this technique and he is accurate in making this statement. This review is for people like me who feel that they have a simple philosophy in place but are looking for practical techniques to add to their personal development.
I felt this book didn't present me with any new material. As for the technique it only takes one page and then lots of practice. I would save my money for something else. |
