Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This clever new memory recall game challenges players to memorize as many details as they can in just 10 short seconds. Turn the timer over, concentrate on the card and try to memorize as many details of the picture as you can. Players then roll the dice to determine which question will be asked and quiz each other on what they remember. Questions can be asked like how many stripes are on the skirt? What's the capital city? Find the name of the famous person shown.

Product Description

How Much Can You Remember in Just 10 Seconds?iParenting Media AwardPlayers study the BrainBox: All Around the World pictures-and-facts side of the card for 10 seconds, then flip to the other side to see how many questions they can answer: Can you name the capital city? How many stripes are on the flag? What river flows through this country? Includes 55 cards, a sand timer and 8-sided die.

I looked on the internet for a variety of geography related games, etc for my two children to prepare for the Geography Bee. I found this and ordered it. My children love it. While it is not strong on geography related questions and answers that I would have chose, it is excellent to get the children started learning. I like that it uses the memorization technique as a bonus (you look at the cards for 10 seconds, turn them over, and then answer a questions based on what you remember). We also mix it up a little and add more questions/answers and compare countries, etc that was reviewed in the past. We give each child a certain task like turning the timer, managing the cards, etc., to improve responsibility skills. I also appreciate that the children are learning instead of video games, etc. Also, my husband did not want to play (you know, "I'm to old for this"). However, the game is challenging, and he and I both love them (I also bought the United States game and recommend it too) and enjoy the family time together. Family time is important and this is a great game to help getting the family together and learning at the same time.

This is not just for kids or just moms and dads to play with their children - it is for anyone who wants to keep up with geography and learn basic information about other countries and hone your memory skills. A brain game that helps you learn while exercising the mind. Easy to play for one or more. The cards are very sturdy and should last a long time. I guess eventually my husband and I will learn where all the countries are and be able to answer all the questions every time but so far not. We have a HUGE National Geographic world map on our wall to keep track of world events and this game has enhanced our map skills. My goal is to be able to fill out a blank world map and list all the countries on it.

We love playing this game...my 7 year old, my mom, my husband--it's actually a lot of fun, and everyone has a chance at winning while learning some neat geography facts. The more you know about geography, the better you'll do, but good memory skills come in really handy, too. Even my 6 year old gets in on the action by running the timer for us (she can't read yet, so can't really play yet). We'll be getting another one of these in the series soon!

It is a great way to spend time with your kids. Take the time to to play just twice even once a week. The memory for them is worth the pause from your schedule and plans.
