Book Description

This book exposes the most common form of child abuse in America, the brainwashing of innocent children's minds to despise a parent. Learn how to recognize the early signs of Parental Alienation Syndrome, understand the nature of parents willing to emotionally harm their own child, and use effective techniques and tools that will help restore your relationship with your child.

Brainwashing Children is not written by a child therapist or psychologist who has lots of theoretical knowledge about mental child abuse but has never experienced a campaign of hatred and contempt firsthand. Rather, it’s written by a Texas father who witnessed a deplorable assault on his relationship with his son. The books he read on Parental Alienation Syndrome by the experts were good, but weren’t enough. So he crafted his own techniques and over the course of three years turned around his son’s relationship with him.

Now he shares his insights and wisdom with anyone else whose is faced with an ex who is brainwashing their child to despise them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent November 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I was searching for answers. I have seen numerous counselors, therapists, psychologist, and even one psychiatrist in an attempt to try to figure out what was happening. Each had their own opinion. One of the psychologists impressed me and it was very uncanny how close many of the descriptions in the book are to what is happening in this situation and what this particular psychologist feels is the right thing to do.

I even went so far as to minimize parenting time in an effort to reduce my son's transition stress. Author states that this is a good intention but is a disaster for the child. So, stress and all, my son and I will have to go through it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye Opening--Finally my kid's behavior makes sense! March 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I trusted their mother. We had a good relationship for many years. I never expected she would turn the kids against me. I couldn't explain how my kids could go from loving their father to suddenly not wanting to come around and making false claims. Did THEY believe these claims or were they fabricated by their mother? The answer is both are true. This book could have been describing MY home--over and over. If WE were a textbook example, how many other children are acting predictably as a result of what is going on in the other parent's home? It was horrifying. However, it did give us hope that these kids could be cured and our relationship could be healed. I was almost ready to just give up on them and then I realized THEY were innocent. Why shouldn't they have been able to trust the person who provided their primary care? Now 3 months after the return to regular visitation, their mother's poison continues, but we have made great strides to rebuild our family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! April 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was like reading a biography of my relationship with my child and my ex. She continues to file pointless charges against me and the court is tired of hearing her false charges. But she does much of what is mentioned in the book. I just hope I can save my child before it's too late. Thank you Mr. Steinbeck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reality to an unimaginable abuse Excellent!! March 2, 2013
By Amy
Format:Kindle Edition
I came across this book looking for answers. Although my situation differs from this typical form of PAS, I can definately apply it. My daughter has been alienated from not just her parents but from all family and friends as well. This book put so much into perspective for me as to realizing the severity of this type of emotional abuse. I can now understand what is going on and how damaging this is to my daughter. To give a brief description, my 19 year old daughter is now living with a man (married family member) 44 years older than she. I can apply the alienating parent as this man and the targetd parent as myself and my husband. I now know what I am up against. This book is informative and well written by a man who has experienced first hand the damaging effects of PAS. A must read for any type of brainwashing. Actually, his advice can be applied to just raising a child in a positive environment without condemnation and hatred in their lives. That is what society needs more of these days. Our children are our future.

3.0 out of 5 stars helpful but idealistic January 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I liked that it explained the ins and outs of a parent hell bent on destroying a relationship between their child hand the non custodial parent, but I did not like the solutions to a no win situation. For example taking out loans and second mortgages to fight a judicial system that doesn't recognize the problem. That money is better spent providing for other children, a healthy retirement, visitation, college fund, anything but banging your head against a wall. The author still has not been awarded custody of his own child.

Sometimes no means no. The system has not helped thousands of alienated children even with mountains of evidence. So, put forth effort for your child but within reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRAINWASHING CHILDREN IS DOMESTIC TERRORISM September 14, 2013

Excellent. I highly recommend this amazing book. The book is absolutely must read. Parental Alienation is one of the most horrific forms of child abuse and it should be criminalized.

Helped me feel so much better about a heartbreaking situation. I felt like we were never going to get anywhere with my child's manipulative mother. This book was spot on. Good advice. Gave us a new perspective and hope. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great overview of malicious parenting August 28, 2013
By Michael
Format:Kindle Edition
This is an outstanding book for any parent who's going through the nightmare of your ex estranging the kids against you. Some of the best material in the book is in the "bonus" chapters, including the spot on description of narcissistic parents.

I really enjoyed the fact that this book can be read in two or three sittings, and that it contained tips that I can use right now. Too soon to see any results after one weekend with my two girls, but I can't wait to see what transpires over the next year or so.

If your heart is bleeding from the toxic words and lies of your ex, you definitely need to read through this book.

good info, but doesn't help much if you have other children from a second marriage. When you have to split yourself in 2, the solutions don't work.
