It is simple to do but hard to explain.

Something I don't really love about this toy is that it is a little tricky to maneuver, and doesn't satisfactorily "click" into place like other puzzles.

First: This appears to be made out of plastic. Which is fine. Cracker Barrel sells this toy in a wooden variety [the kind I have] for a little over a dollar. No challenge book however.

Second: I bought this toy for my 5 year old daughter. She played with it for hours the first night, all day after school the second day, and the third, and many hours since. It is very sturdy, and it has shown no signs of cracking, nor the elastic of wearing away yet. I imagine that even if the elastic did break, it would be simple to restring it.

My daughter is a video game fanatic, and she doesn't ask to play with a gameboy anymore. She just picks this up and makes things with it.

It is challenging enough to make you think, but once you understand the mechanics of this simple and old-fashioned toy, you will be making things with it in no time. Even if you buy this version, its a definite winner.

Be ready to hear the steady 'click click click' of the cubes against each other in the near future!

This puzzle is much harder than it looks -- aren't most that way... But it's lots of and easy to learn. But it takes patience.
The pieces in this puzzle are all connected with a piece of elastic that is relatively sturdy, but I am careful when I move the pieces around so I won't pull too hard and snap it. My guess is that it won't last very long, but that's conjecture. For now, it's fun!

When I received this toy in the mail I was very surprised at small it actually is - it really is only a few inches long. The puzzle is held together by an elastic string, which so far has held up fine but I wonder about its durability with repeated long-term use.

The age range on this toy states that it is for 8 years and above, but I would disagree. My 4-year-old loves it and is able to do some of the easier challenges. And it definitely is too easy for adults. My husband and I could solve the hardest challenge, no problem. Maybe a better age range would be ages 5-12.

Something I don't really love about this toy is that it is a little tricky to maneuver, and doesn't satisfactorily "click" into place like other puzzles. You basically rotate the cubes around the elastic and put the elastic through the correct notches. Still fun, but really not my favorite.

This would be a fun toy for children, but quickly gets old for older puzzlers.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I was looking for a new addition for my desk at work to go with the various "separate the rings" puzzles that I have, and I thought that the Flexi Puzzle would be something different. However, I spent some time trying the various levels of puzzles myself before putting it out on display for others. The puzzles do seem to increase appropriately based on the category assigned in the accompanying booklet. Adults should be able to finish any of the 80 listed while children will be able to spend more time pondering over the more difficult selections. If it is used appropriately, I believe it will hold up fairly well over time. However, I have my doubts about harder use by the younger ones. If your child is normally hard on toys, you might pass on this one. Otherwise, I would recommend this as a different kind of puzzle that is fun for all ages. There is one consideration for office use. Unlike the "separate the rings" puzzles that I described earlier, the Flexi Puzzle requires more focus and concentration. Whoever is engaged with the puzzle probably won't have much of their attention to apply to conversation. Enjoy!

Here's a fun little time-waster. It's not so much a puzzle (way too easy) as it is a fidget-gadget, a term I just coined for this very review! You'll just play around with it mindlessly while watching TV or when talking to someone and finding it laying in front of you on the coffee table. The colors will definitely draw you in.

Flexi Puzzle is only about 6 inches long, actually almost small enough to shove in a pocket! That being said it is easy to take on road trips or throw in a purse. The colors are just as vibrant on the actual puzzle as listed in the listing, this makes the brochure included with the puzzle and the actual puzzle easy to understand when attempting the different puzzle levels. The puzzles that are included range from easy to master level. I must admit all the puzzles are very simple for an adult. The puzzle is harder for smaller children. My 13 year old found the puzzles to be easy, but there were a few that took a little more time. If I had to "guess" an age this puzzle would be most challenging and/or the most fun, it would be for ages 8 to 12. The booklet or brochure that lists the different puzzles is easy to understand, there aren't any long directions, it is a visual puzzle and the booklet gives a picture of what you are supposed to attempt with the Flexi Puzzle. Overall, I think this is a fun item for age appropriate kids!

This is the list of all who tried it here:
- 2 adults - too easy
- a teen- too easy
- 11 year old - only the last few puzzles were a challenge
- 3 year old didn't understand the concept of the puzzle, but liked to build with it, liked the colors, and named the pictures in the challenge book and asked me to build them for him. He was tugging and pulling on the blocks, and it still survived.
I guess the puzzle would be fun for 5-8 year olds the best.
The size of the blocks is about half inch, and if you make a straight rod with it, it is almost 6 and half inches long, so it is rather small. There was a ziplock bag included to put the puzzle and the book with challenges in.
