I have a Beagle, a Cocker, and a Dacshund mix. The medium works for the first two and the small is perfect for the little guy.

Postive:

My dog would eat so fast that I was sure he never chewed. All three dogs eat at the same time and the Beagle would always finish first and then pressure the others for thier food. This caused the Cocker to eat a little faster too. I am glad I saw these on a TV show recently. They work!!

My Beagle has slowed down considerably. He HAS to slow down just to get to all the bits around the center prongs. I hope it keeps working. We have been using it for 2 weeks and I just ordered more for my niece to use with her 3 dogs.

Needs Improvement:

The bowls need to be weighted down. They are too light. With the dog having to move his nose around the prongs, it moves the bowl more than a standard bowl. Adding some weight would help.

My dad is working on a raised platform to use with the bowls. That will give the benefit of feeding the dogs at their best level AND holding the bowls in place on the stand.

I highly recommend these to anyone with dogs who eat so fast that they regurge thier food as soon as they are done.

I'd actually give this 5 stars if I had a dog with a snout. It didn't seem to be as deep in the photos as it actually is. While it does slow him down, Hoops is unable to get to the last fourth of his meal and it looks like the pillars are almost poking his eyes.

I tried it a couple of times with him. He got very frustrated and flipped it over the first time. I secured it the second time, so he just gave up with 1/4 of his food left and cried. If it was half as deep it'd be great...

Make a version for snub-nosed dogs please!

We have a little boston terror that used to gulp her food so fast she'd throw it up again a few minutes later. We tried different shaped bowls to no avail until we got the Brake-Fast bowl.

What an immediate difference it made.

The bowl slows her eating to where she no longer is able to gulp her food and she hasn't gulped-barfed since we got the bowl.

A simple solution and a great product. Thanks!

This bowl is great - it changed my dog's dinner time from 7 seconds into a good two and a half minutes. Now he doesn't gag for thirty minutes after he's finished dinner. Well worth every penny.

The bowl definitely works. The dog eats his food much more slowly. The cons of this product are that it is so light weight plastic that it slides too much. To solve the problem, I went to a discount store and bought a cheap metal bowl and took the rubber ring off of the base and put it on this bowl. That helps a lot.

The second con is the price. I think the price is outrageous for a piece of molded plastic.

This looked like a joke gift for our King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, but in fact it proved to be amazingly effective. Like many of his breed, Clive would like to eat all the time, and he eats at an amazing speed.

Our vet suggested that slowing his eating would help him maintain a healthy weight. We tried putting rocks and later tennis balls in his food bowl, but he quickly learned to extract the impediments and scarf down his food.

Clive's been working to extract his meals from this bowl for over a month. It takes him at least a minute to work around the prongs and finish every last morsel. The bowl can be put on a mat so it won't move, but it takes him even longer to eat when he pushes the bowl around our kitchen floor.

I love this bowl for my dog. It has definitely slowed her down in her eating and there's not as much gas emitted when I'm near her! It was definitely worth it. I wish the company made it in different styles, such as a bone, etc., but it does the trick as is. I ordered the small, but I also wish there was a smaller one,because I have a mini doxie and other minis out there might need smaller ones also. Still very satisfied.

This bowl is perfect for little dogs who "woof down" their food and need to be gently forced to slow it down. It apparently helps with gastro-intestinal problems and other general problems like burping, flatulence, etc. I only had two issues with the small bowl -- it was too deep for my small (13 lb) smushed-nose French bulldog to use. Also, I normally don't buy plastic dog bowls because they often harbor more bacteria than sterling silver or metal bowls. It wasn't for us, but I think this bowl is a quality, useful product for the right pet household!

I think this product has significantly impacted my dog's eating process. She is a "gulper" and this slows her down. Plus, I have the peace of mind knowing that I am taking some action to control her eating.

This fast break dog bowl DOES live up to it's claims. Working very well for our dog who is a gluper...and sometimes barfer. Very satisfied with overall performance of product.
