Couldn't use it. After buying all the tow equipment for Blue Ox, Base plate,Wire harness and having everything mounted. The Brake Buddy requires a 6 pin end at the tow vehicle, not the 4 that I had gotten with my 7 to 4 cable from Blue Ox.
All my tow lights etc work with a 4 pin. I'll also add I have a Brake Buddy Classic for my tow vehicle.
No where in the Brake Buddy review for the product does it mention you'll need a 6 pin connecter at the tow vehicle end to pick up a hot lead to "tend the battery".
I suspect the Brake Buddy is a good item, just not something I can use with my present configuration.
I wish more info had been supplied before I purchased.

Whenever we traveled for a long time towing our Subaru we'd get a warning that our Easy Brake's power was low and shortly after would turn off, or after arriving at our day's destination would find the battery was too low to start requiring jumping to move the car. Asked the manufacturer of the Easy Brake (my controller) how to resolve this and they suggested a number of things that either weren't practical or were too complex to bother with. They didn't suggest this product but since it's made by a competitor they may not have known of it (and one of their suggestions actually did wind up doing just what this product was after construction (but wouldn't have been as small and neatly constructed, so buying this was better and far easier). Discovered this device, while browsing the internet. Low cost and quality construction. Installed it per the straight-forward instructions and our battery problems are over. Installation was easy for me (have some experience with wiring and electronics) and should be for most dyi types; otherwise have it installed--shouldn't cost much for that. Bottom line: attach connector when starting trip and remove it when at destination. Battery charges as long as towing vehicle is running.

Incredibly simple. Works and installs just as described. Once you figure out the routing. The rest is really a breeze

I finally got to install this on our Ford C-Max, along with the Blue Ox base plate and some tail light wiring. This was by far the easiest install. Unfortunately, I have no way to test it until we do a long day of towing and I find out if the car battery has gone down or not. I made sure there is a good ground wire between the coach and the car, as well as an adequate 12v power supply. A couple of led's to show the state of charge of the towed vehicle's battery and maybe one or two showing the input voltage would be a nice addition, maybe with a "test" button so they are not on all the time. I will update if I determine something is not working as planned.

I can only assume it's working. Quick install and easy to run a power from the motorhome to this on the towed vehicle.

This was shipped fast, came packaged well and has easy to follow instructions. There was plenty of extra wire to make sure it would reach to my vehicle. I do need one small part to make the final attachment to my light plug but it will be simple also.

I installed this in my towed vehicle to keep the battery charged and intentionally let the battery go low to verify it works. I monitored it was charging at about 10amps so it must have a charge current limiter as well as a reverse current flow diode to prevent the towed vehicle battery from discharging backward to the tow vehicle. It is also surprisingly small, about the size of two packs of gum so it can be mounted about anywhere. I would like to know exactly what is inside this as it has a 20A fuse but does not appear to charge at that current. The manufacturer should post the current limit so if someone had a vehicle that used more than 15A (guessing) of current while being towed that they would know if this device would provide enough to keep the battery charged.
