I found the photos and directions in this book to be the most complete and the easiest to follow that I've ever seen in a book of this type. The completed charaacters are gorgeous. This is a book that I would definitely recommend to both beginners and advanced doll makers. Superb!

Love the Brambly Hedge stories? Want to make really cute little fuzzy mouse figures dressed in quaint Victorian outfits? This is for you.

The book contains life-size patterns for the mice and their clothing, that you can trace, cut and use directly. The instructions are easy enough for a 9-year-old, and the outfits are beautiful.

Only down side?
There are not more of the characters and fashions included. (All mice featured on the cover are included, though, and they are all characters from the books during specific parts of the stories).

This book has patterns and instructions so clearly given that characters of the Brambly Hedge stories can be made into cute dolls. I love the book so much that I bought this as a second copy to replace my original which was lost in a fire. In order to copy the patterns without laying it flat on a copier, I found it easiest to trace them by hand on thin paper.

I've always loved Beatrice Potter's characters and this book brings them to life. I owned this book when it first came out and it was lost after the Northridge earthquake in 1994.I made all the characters. The patterns are easy to follow and the instructions are beautifully illustrated with much detail that can be easily lost in just writing instructions or taking a photograph. I owned so many books that were lost and so I just forgot about it. When I happen to see it again I just had to have it. This is a family heirloom book that should be passed own in your family.

I started making these in the 80s.I am now 65 and still making them families.

I designed Victorian clothes and vingttes for these adorable creatures. They make heirloom gifts for grandchildren or grownups.. Little ones should never play with these they are after all heirlooms NOT TOys.

I love making these for my grandchildren, patterns well illustrated and easy to follow. I also had the knitting patterns, unfortunatly lost at moving time.
