I am a successful Dukan-dieter and am now in the last phase of the diet: the rest of my life! So I need to work oat bran into it, every day. I wasn't sure how I was going to do that but now I have so many great new ideas. I look forward to making many of the recipes and the research on oat bran and the health benefits for our bodies, I found very interesting. Whether you are on the Dukan Diet or just want to learn how to work a very healthy and beneficial whole grain into your diet, I highly recommend reading this book. Thanks Ms. Goodshef!

DELICIOUS DIETING: THE OAT BRAN GUIDE is about oat bran recipes for the Dukan diet although readers don't have to be on this diet to use these high-fiber, nutritious recipes. I haven't paid any attention to the Dukan diet because I don't eat meat at all. But I am definitely interested in oat bran because we all need as much fiber as we can get - not to mention that fact that I LOVE oatmeal!

One fascinating new piece of information is that oat is the only grain that contains "avenalin", a kind of fiber that helps regulate the body's metabolism and insulin levels.

I also had to research two ingredients that were unfamiliar. The first is "fromage frais" and a handy American substitute is sour cream. I am also unfamiliar with "quark" which is like yogurt cheese. I've made that many times and it's as simple as allowing yogurt to drain for several hours until the yogurt is the consistency of cream cheese.

There are multiple recipes that are calling my name. Oat Bran Fruit Crumble: I made this last night for dinner except that it calls for almond butter and I only had peanut butter. It was delicious! The oat bran crepes sound wonderful (especially if they're smothered in cherries). There is a chocolate pancake that surely must be illegal it sounds so awesome! I have all the ingredients except the cream cheese which is now on my grocery list. There are two chocolate muffin recipes and I plan on trying the first one this week although I will most likely add some dried cranberries.

As a person who doesn't eat meat, most high-protein recipes sound pretty disgusting. This oat bran recipe book is a welcome exception.

I'm not on the Dukan Diet but I am about to start another diet. My Doctor had recommended Oat Bran to help reduce my cholesterol. So I did a search and found this great book! What I like is that it gives you the complete background on oat bran, why it's healthy and how it works. Then you get a bunch of great and simple recipes! I plan to include some of these recipes in the diet I'll be starting. After reading this book I think I may have oat bran once a day. I highly recommend this book if you're looking for healthy and nutritious recipes.
