A dancer's assessment of this product...,

I wanted to give this product to my daughter for a serious review of its effectiveness. This is her take on the item.
As a dancer majoring in ballet at university, I wanted to try out Band-Aid's new Friction Block Stick to see if it would help prevent me from getting blisters from my pointe shoes. When I received this product, the first positive aspects that I noticed were its small compact size, no mess simple design, and its good smell. The actual application of the product, however, was somewhat awkward and felt much like putting deodorant on my feet and toes. I did not sense any significant change in the feel or friction of my shoes, but I do believe it helped a bit. The only other downside to this product was that it cannot be applied on blisters or open sores which is disappointing to me because these are the areas that I would most want to protect from friction. Overall, I think this product would be good for the average shoe wearer whose shoes don't fit perfectly, someone who is wearing new shoes for the first time, or a lady putting on heels before a big night out. If you are looking for serious coverage, though, it looks like the plain old band-aid is still the best way to go.

Wear those strappy sandals all night long!,

Before I found Friction Block, I would literally put ten Band-Aids on my feet and then carry a box with me everywhere if I wanted to wear heels. Or flats. Or wedges. Or booties. I can't even wear most flip flops because I get blisters everywhere from rubber or leather straps. And strappy sandals just meant an excrutiating evening after the first few minutes. But then I discovered Friction Block and I haven't used a Band-Aid in months! My feet are blister free. You have to apply it liberally the moment you feel anything rubbing (or in my case, you know exactly where each pair of shoes will cause blisters, so I use it before I even put anything on my feet). You cannot wait until you have a blister, and you may need to reapply if your first application is very thin, but one small stick lasts a long time even with frequent applications. (Warning: It may discolor lighter fabrics; test in an inconspicuous location first.) I love this product!!

I will say I did not use this in the recommended way, for shoe blisters, because I tend not to keeps shoes that cause blisters. What I did want this for, I am almost embarassed to say is chafing in other areas. I don't consider myself overweight, but by darned if my upper inner thighs don't chafe like crazy when I sweat. It has been to the point that I felt like my skin was ripping off and I get actual swelling in the chafed area. I thought this might help, so I applied it and it worked like a charm for me. What was also helpful and hopefully not a fluke was that my shorts did not seems to ride up as much between my legs. The container is smaller than a travel size deoderant but pretty much is used in the same way. I wish I could review how it works with shoe blisters but like I said, I have no shoes that cause blisters, but I do like how it works with chafing and it would be my guess it would work well.

Friction Block Works!,

I have a lot of shoes, and by a lot I mean I open my closet door and they are up to my knees, and hanging in shoe organizers, and on shelves. Sometimes the shoes fit perfectly, but I am wear different sizes sometimes im a 7, sometimes a 7 1/2 and sometimes an 8. I really try not to buy any shoe that hurts me , occasionally I cannot pass up a good bargain and get a shoe that rubs me a bit, not enough for a blister but enough to cause discomfort.
I wore band aids, put tape on, and everything fell off, and looked unseemly. Who wants to wear a pair of cute kitten heels and also a band aid? not I. Friction block by Band Aid Brand is really three ingredients: Veg Oil, fragrance, alcohol. You take the mini deoderant like stick and rub it on your foot BEFORE you put your shoes on. If you get an Owee and then put it on? Still gonna have that Owee and pain. Its a preventative product. It smells really good, but not over powering. Sometimes the simplest products bring you the hugest smiles and are gifts from the Comfy Gods, this is one of them!

I was skeptical, but it totally works!,

I thought this would be the same as putting chapstick on your heels (a trick I read about in a magazine years ago) but this is seriously a whole new ball game.
I wore it with a pair of shoes that are not totally broken in yet and had given me sores in the past - first time using this block stick, no issues AT ALL. Thought that maybe my shoes were broken in and wore them the next time without the block, and my blisters were back by the end of the day. I let a friend use it after she had been wearing her new boots for a few hours. She asked me for a band-aid and I suggested she try this first and then put the band-aid on, she said she put the friction block on and after a while she couldn't find the spot where she had been rubbed raw before. So in short, I'm totally converted.

Band-Aid Friction Block really works!,

When I got Band-Aid friction block I was skeptical. I figured it was worth a try.
I have 2 pairs of shoes I absolutely love, but hate because I always get blisters when I wear them. This is no longer true. I wore one of the pairs for 8 hours with only one application of friction block and I didn't even get a red mark! I will always keep Band-Aid Friction Block on hand.

I received this product from the Amazon Vine program. I was eager to try it since we have four kids in various sports, and often deal with blisters and chafing due to shoes, bras, and jock straps.
First of all, I like the Band-Aid brand and would have bought this in a store based on that reputation. The size of the stick is nice, with at least a dozen applications in it. We applied it to my daughter's heels first, since she has suffered from blisters while playing volleyball. We also applied it to my son's cup area, as he gets rubbed by his jock strap a lot during baseball. The good news is that it does the job. It smells nice, applies evenly, and protects against additional rubbing. It does seem somewhat sticky and moist when applied. However, for overall protection, we still prefer Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-gel. Overall, the Monistat product feels drier, applies smoother, and remains less likely to rub during sports. This is a good product, and we'd probably buy it again if we hadn't discovered the Monistat product first.

Work's on feet, not on other runners' parts, read warning,

The Band Aid Brand Friction Block Stick is very small. About the size of three AA batteries.
It smells a bit like dial soap, and has this warning on the back: ***** Keep out of reach of children. For external use only. Do not use in or near eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. If redness or swelling occurs discontinue use and consult a physician. Do not use on blisters or open wounds. Store between 59 F (15 C) and 86 F (30 C) ***** The number for questions is: 1-866-565-2873 The product is made in Canada! Not China! Yeah! The stuff does work on heels, but not if you already have blisters. Also, it is not for other parts of the body that runners need to protect, like inner thigh and nipples. The reasons are twofold, the stick is very small, and the substance is a bit too slippery. I much prefer other brands designed for bikers and runners like Body Glide, for more sensitive (and larger) parts of my body.

This stuff is fantastic. I keep one in my purse, one in my travel bag, one in my RV and 2 in my bathroom. I keep telling all my friends about this stuff. I'm sure you all know how sometimes shoes that fit really well suddenly rub blisters. Well no more with this stuff I don't worry about blisters. great for traveling with feet swelling in the planes, etc.

Does a good job of preventing blisters,

I had a knee replaced 4 months ago and that leg still swells, especially when I sit at a computer all day, and this was creating a problem with shoes. In combination with the Band-Aid blister band-aids to treat several really awful blisters that the swelling created, this has prevented new ones and both products seem to have become a survival staple (especially since the other knee replacement is scheduled).
