5.0 out of 5 stars So Talented
Danny Gans has got to be one of the most talented men that I have ever seen. For those of you unaware of who he is, Danny Gans is an extremly gifted impressionist at the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas. This is his first CD and what can I say, the guy is simply blessed. My favorite songs are "Best Stuff Cafe" and "Many Voices, One Song." I strognly...

5.0 out of 5 stars Danny Gans' Great Heart and Golden Voice, January 24, 2011
This review is from: Brand New Dream (Audio CD)
I've had this CD sitting in storage for 10 years. I listened to it one time and didn't connect with it, so I put it away. However, I came across it again a few months ago and decided to pull it out and give it another listen. I was curious as to his covers on the songs, "The Touch of the Master's Hand" and "The Best Stuff In The World Today Cafe." I was blown away by the song arrangements and Danny's incredible voice. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job with those songs than what Danny did. I decided to give the rest of the CD another chance. I listen to all styles of music (i.e. rock, country, Motown, soul, reggae, Jimmy Buffett, etc.) and this Danny Gans CD is my current # 1 favorite. I love that Danny's faith shines through his music in a 'love story' sort of way. I love the songs, "Brand New Dream", "Those Simple Words You Said", "The Journeys Here At Home," and "Many Voices, One Song". You can't go wrong with this CD. Buy it and let the music speak to your heart while the words (and Danny's life) speak to your soul.

If his show is any indication of what's on this CD, I am not interested. His Vegas show is a glorified lounge act that's okay, not spectacular. While his imitations of Sammy Davis Jr., Nat King Cole, and Rod Stewart were very good, they were only 3 in a litany of more than 25 voices he attempted to do - most sounded the same, and nothing like the original. Why am I griping? $100 to see this would have been much better spent on 5 rides on the Stratosphere coaster. Sorry, no fan here.
