4.0 out of 5 stars If you're a fan, It's great Gary Stewart.
Ramona, Brand New Whiskey and Rainin', Rainin', Rainin' are worth the the price of the CD alone. They're pure Gary and will bring back the feeling of his early work.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stick with Gary Stewart's RCA Victor Recordings!
On this album, Gary Stewart's voice sounds like he's been playing to many smoke-filled clubs and dancehalls. The songs are well-written and feature good back-up work, but Stewart's voice sounds damaged.

This Hightone Records collection of new Stewart recordings doesn't hold a candle to his RCA Victor recordings. I've listened to this album two or three times since I...

5.0 out of 5 stars the late "great" gary stewart, January 29, 2005

In my opinion, this is one of the best recordings Gary ever walked out of a studio with. His remarkable, unique, one of a kind voice is his signature and this album truly reveals this truth. Gary may be gone but his memory and this album remain..."brand new".

This is a terrific recording and Gary's voice sounds as rough and
ready as ever. Good song selection, too, especially "Rainin', Rai-
nin', Rainin'" and "Son of a Honky-Tonk Woman". He still really
tears it up!

This Hightone Records collection of new Stewart recordings doesn't hold a candle to his RCA Victor recordings. I've listened to this album two or three times since I purchased it--hoping that I've misjudged the album and will find a redeeming track. Regretably, I've been disappointed every time. Stick with Gary Stewart's RCA Victor recordings.
