This is SnP's best album. They have really matured and improved since coming out with Very Necessary. IMO, EVERY track on brand new is easy to listen to and at least above average, RU Ready, Do Me Right, Imagine are excellent, and most tracks are good to very good. I can't say the same for past albums such as Very Necessary where there were a couple hits, but many...

5.0 out of 5 stars Up there to one of their best CD's, July 15, 1999

I love this album and really think it's up there to being one of their best CD's. I mean I enjoyed how they talked love and sex but I think this is a great CD. Some of my favorite songs are Imagine, Gitty Up, Clock Is tickin', R U Ready, and more.

I can't see how anyone can front on this album. Of course they aren't the same they've been before. They have matured. This album is the best to date. The best sonsg are R U Ready, Gitty Up, Say Ohh, and Imagine. The whole album is off-the-hook. The on the scale of 1-10, they desrve an 11!

5.0 out of 5 stars SO COOL !, June 26, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Brand New (Audio CD)
This ,the most recent album from S n'P is there best . They have matured on this set and it is for the best . There are muture songs like " GOOD LIFE" among ohters . There are sexy songs like the most popular single " GITTY UP ",album tracks like " BOY TOY" and ones that fall in between like " NEW BRAND " and the first single " R U READY ". This is a must for those who like Pop - R&B and Pop - Rap . I really hope they come back and do another album . Great work S n'P! If it is sexy songs you want, I strongly recommend that you buy KARYN WHITE- " RITUAL OF LOVE ", SAMANTHA FOX- " JUST ONE NIGHT ",EXPOSE- " EXPOSE ", THE COVER GIRLS- " SATISFY ", CYNTHIA- " THINKING OF YOU ", JOMANDA- " SOME ONE TO LOVE ME", JANET JACKSON- " VELVET ROPE ", SILK - "LOVE SESSIONS ", MONIFAH- " HOME ", JOHNNY GILL- " LET'S GET THE MOOD RIGHT ",JOHNNY GILL- " PROVOCATIVE ", H-TOWN- " LADIES EDITION " & RALPH TRESVANT- " IT'S GOIN' DOWN ". Now if you want some dirty - minded R&B / Hip - Hop , purcase BELL BIV DeVOE- " BBD " , TOTAL- " KIMA , KEISHA ,PAM " MONIFAH-" MO'HOGANY " and MILLIE JACKSON- " NOT FOR CHURCH FOLK! " SIGNED [12] YEAR OLD MUSIC FAN.

I think this cd has less of the salt-n-pepa flair, but the songs do have good beats.

I like Salt N Pepa but this CD was wack and generic they need to come back stronger before they fade away into obscurity.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not so much sex anymore, July 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Brand New (Audio CD)
Salt n Pepa has always topped the charts with their sexy "booty call" songs like "Shoop", "Whatta man", "None of you business" and the now classic "Push It". However, on this album, they have decided to make a call for spirituality and religion, which will definitely put them on a losing end because most of their fans still prefer them to be hot, horny and nasty! The only songs that really rock here are "R U Ready" (the first single), "Gitty Up" and the infectiously sexy "Boy Toy". Not their best, but considering they have been around for a long long time, they should be commended nonetheless. Next time around, please make it more sexy!!!

This album is worth nothing, and they could have kept it. It has no meaning at all and all they think about is sex and money.
