Full Realeased!,

Now the complete run of this great Western Series is out.I think it is the first of the Classic Western Shows who had become that treatment. Im very thankful to own them.I give five Stars, though the shows are a little cut from the Original. The Picture is a little bit unsharp sometimes, because they are not digitally remastered. But you can look over this minor failures.
Now in color Branded truly shines. The Episodes in the first season were a little bit better on narration and in this season McCord is more and more an secret agent for president Grant. Here you get the best episode of the complete Run- McCords Way.Reminds me of High Noon.Outstanding also to see the Special with Larry Cohen.Great Stuff to hear about why Branded disappeared from the screens, because of the ego of Chuck Connors. So Connors shot in is own legs with his loose mouth.Very sad!Buy this set and treasure this gem of Cult Television.I hope there will be more from this publisher.

I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED WATCHING THESE SHOWS . IT'S A SHAME THAT THIS COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE INTO AN HOUR-LENGTH SHOW . THE STORY LINES ARE WELL DEVELOPED AND SEEING SOME OF THE VETERAN ACTORS IN THESE EPISODES MAKES THIS A TRUE "CLASSIC" FOR THOSE OF US WHO ENJOY THE WESTERN GENRE!! WHY AREN'T THE SHOWS IN SOME KIND OF CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER??

Loved both The Rifleman and Branded series as a kid. Both highlighted Chuck Connors range as an actor & he always delivered the goods. So happy to now have the complete "official" Branded series on DVD (still waiting for the complete Rifleman series - but at least we're getting to enjoy it right now on the Encore Western Channel :)

Jason McCord, Captain US Army,
This review is from: Branded: Season Two (DVD)
I never cease to be amazed at what a misjudged man can do with a broken saber. Calling him a coward is not enough, you must also bother the ladies. This is a character study, a moral play, a religious experience. Watching this series in the 60's helped me prepare for the US Marines in the 70's.

I was in elementary school when Branded came out, and I remembered it came on before Bonanza which we were waiting for. After watching a few shows Branded became part of our viewing schedule. This set of DVD's like Volume 1 can use better video restoration. This becomes more evident in the color episodes of Season 2. What makes this set so nice is the bonus feature with a complete interview with the creator of Branded, Mr. Cohen. Cohen, (who was also involved with the show "The Invaders" and other TV shows), discusses the idea and creation of the show in great detail. It was a show shunned by NBC but loved by Proctor and Gamble which was a big NBC sponsor. The scheduling of Branded was a strategic move by NBC and Proctor and Gamble to keep viewers on NBC as it was sandwiched between Disney's Wonderful World of Color and Bonanza. Cohen talks about the up and down relationships with Chuck Connors and the various producers. The interview and his comments are worth the value of this DVD set. Now that this DVD set has been combined as season 1 and 2, is this bonus feature still there.

One of my favorite episodes in Season II is "Call to Glory," which is a three part episode about General Custer. Of course it's fictional, but I enjoyed it very much! Unlike the majority of people, I also enjoyed the last two episodes. Of course, I'm a sucker for romance and hate to see anyone having to be a wanderer, not finding their "place" in this world. I was happy to see that Jason finally found it...
These episodes are cut to 22 minutes a piece, and some of the cuts are pretty bad...like you pick up right in the middle of a scene. But at least we get them, right?

I was very much looking forward to attaining this product because I am a big fan of Chuck Connors but I was very disappointed due to the poor condition of the slip-case and as a collector who enjoys having his belongings in the best condition possible I chose to return this item.
Amazon.com has to excercise better quality control in the area of packaging the items that they ship!
