This is a sticky paper(really sticky), but doesn't attract the fly.
I hang it out but simply doesn't stick single one in 24 hours. Here is the tip I figured out hot to use it catch the fly.
We need to make a trap to attract the fly. This is the key.

First, cut a few slices of apple or pear, or other fruits, even juice, put into a bowl.

Second, seal the bowl with food wrap. And punch a few small holes. This is to release some smell to attract the fly.

Third, put the sticky paper on the top of the wrap. Since it is very long, you just turn it around like a butterfly shape. Cover most area of the bowl, but don't complete seal the small holes.

Now we have the trap ready.
The fly will come because of the smell of the fruit. Since most area of the bowl is covered, they have little chance not touching the sticky paper.

I've used this product for 10 years on my outdoor patio in hot, humid Coastal Georgia. It attracts and traps gnats, flying termites, flies, horseflies, mosquitos, and numerous other annoying critters that would otherwise be tormenting my family and I as we enjoy our backyard activities. I used to buy TAT from a local grocery store, but when they discontinued it in place of a product that DOES NOT WORK, I looked to the internet and Amazon. Thank goodness they came through (as usual). I can't explain the negative reviews - except that I note that you DO have to unwind the paper carefully or you'll pull it out of it's little cannister. But as far as it "doesn't work" - BALONEY. It has worked and continues to work for me. I put two at a time out on the patio and have to change them frequently during the summer season. One thing I particularly like about this product is that when it rains, it remains just as effective. Water drops bead up and eventually evaporate, with no diminishing of the tackiness of the strip whatsoever. The competitors that I've tried are no longer sticky after a good rain. All-in-all - IMHO - this is the best product of its kind on the market.

This fly paper works if you hang it in the right place. I live on a farm and cluster flies gather in our windows every fall. I hang these strips in the windows and the flies bump into it as they fly around--one bump and they're caught. It doesn't catch all flies--and it rarely catches Asian beetles, unfortunately--but it catches most of them. It's safe--much better than spraying pesticides--and it doesn't use energy. Perfect for my needs. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because sometimes when you pull one out of the tube the fly paper tears off--then it's useless unless you can tape it back together.

This stuff works great - if you know what you're doing. Fly paper doesn't attract flys like the stinky outdoor traps. It's just a sticky surface that snags the beasts if they happen to land on it. It's up to you to locate a popular destination in the fly world and hang the paper nearby. I often flatten it out on a scrap of wood and leave it on the counter or near the sink. See photo - I hung two strips on a copper pipe that seemed to always have a few landing on it. Two days later...fly kabob!

Since I live in south Texas, we get various flies and other flying pests for a good part of the year. I have always used TAT and have been satisfied. Each roll comes with a little thumbtack to attach it or you can use the little string loop as well. It's super easy and TAT's been around forever. I'm amazed at the number of flies it catches and I like the fact that it is insecticide-free because I have pets. (Be sure and hang it out of reach of your cats because they'll be walking around with flypaper dragging behind them.)
A tip: in cold weather it's very hard to unroll the tape so let it warm it up a bit and it will spiral out like a charm.

i've used these kinds of strips in the past, and i find them most useful for gnats and fruit flies. where i live, every time i open my front door a dozen of these things fly in, and gather at the one light that's on late at night. i hang one of these next to it, and by the morning the thing is *covered* in them. i didn't think to take a picture of the last one and haven't needed to use another yet, but when i do i'll make sure to upload a shot.

no clue how it works for bigger (regular) house flies. they don't really swarm and the odds of getting them to land on a strip given the amount of surface area in the rest of your house may be poor odds, which is why some people might be saying that this product doesn't do anything. however, if you have little swarmy dudes, this'll work well.best and cheapest tool i've found. the alternative is a half-filled cheap bottle of wine or sweet vinegar - they fly in and pass out. personally, i use these papers as super-saver shipping fillers.

oh and most of these strips (regardless of seller) don't stay tacked in very well by design, so move the tack to the stringy loop and hang it that way :)

Last summer I spent a lot of time trying to swat pesky flies - lots of them. I determined that my time would be better spent doing other things so I purchased the Black Flag TAT Fly Paper. It's easy to use, does it job of attracting the pests and making sure they do not further buzz anybody in the house. This product is a wise choice for me.
