The brass flat washer is made in USA. The flat washer provides a bearing surface for fastener load distribution or is used as a spacer between components. Brass provides corrosion resistance and offers thermal and electrical conductivity. The material is nonmagnetic.
Washers distribute the load of a fastener across a surface and can also be used as spacers, springs, shims, or locking devices. Several different washer styles fit a variety of application and installation requirements. The most common style is a flat washer. More specialized washers provide additional benefits. A cup washer, for example, helps protect fasteners from electrical currents, while a lock washer offers additional security in an assembled workpiece.

They'd be fine for most applications where any sort of precision or accuracy is not necessary but they aren't particularly useful for my purposes.
As for a description: They look NOTHING like the picture which appears to be of a very thick, machined washer. These washers are not thick, but the description says .019" (.48mm) nominal thickness so I knew ahead of time that the thickness was not accurately depicted but that's not my big complaint.
My complaint is that I paid $12 for a few tiny washers that are cheaply manufactured. They are sloppily stamped. The holes are out of round and are over-sized. I needed something that I could press fit on 2mm rod and these guys aren't close. These aren't any better than your cheap garden variety hardware store washers...pretty disappointing from a company called "Accurate Manufacturing" and completely useless to me. I'll try to return them but not sure how that will work out since I opened the package.
Again, save your money, go to the neighborhood hardware store and buy the same thing for 1/4 the price.
Edit: Just wanted to update. The product is no better than I previously stated but Amazon was GREAT about issuing a refund. Thank you.
Dangerous item. Without these washers, it would have taken machine shop work to mill a pair of one-piece custom flanges.
So I decided to make inner flanges by brazing a pair of these washers to tight-fitting sections of pipe. Get that union square and it works, more or less. Taking off another mill or two completes the job. Then truing the wheel (with paper shimming at the center) gets to a rig that's not a lethal hazard.
Overall that grinder is better used for wire wheel and buffer operations.
