This review is from: Brat Pack Confidential (Paperback)
This book is an essential read for all wanna be Brat Packers out there. It is a comprehensive guide to the quintessential films and actors of the 80's phenomena. We are transported back in time and allowed the pleasure of reliving the birth of the ultra - knowing Generation X.

The teen movie of the 1980's was in its decade undervalued yet through informative and nostalgic retrospect this book depicts the rise, development and lasting social force of the emotionally charged collaboration of movies, performers and directors, who came to define the era.

Within the first section of the book the authors present an entertaining analysis of the key components of the Brat Pack cinema, with the films chronologically examined in detail. The plots are relived, the unmistakable one liners firmly in place and the casting and directoral decisions revealed.

The second section of the book gives biographical accounts of the indiviual performers; examining their rise, their fall and their contribution to the genre.

This book is simply priceless. It is an absolute necessity; a highly entertaining, suitably reminiscent, invaluably revealing guide to unarguably some of the most enjoyable films of the 80's.
