Cute gimmic, but not worth the money or effort!!, February 1, 2006

First of all, a disclaimer: "Let the buyer beware," as they say. This doll, as cute as she is that she giggles hysterically after she utters a delicate burp, is not, I repeat, NOT worth the money for this gimmic. I have never rated a Bratz toy so low, but after I got Jade home, I discovered how difficult she is to get to work right.
First of all, Jade comes with a demonstration button wired into her back that needs to be removed BY AN ADULT and then there is a tiny plastic plug that goes into the hole in her back where the wire was.
Then, in theory, Jade is supposed to "drink" from her soda bottle (filled with bubble solution--so she is not recommended for children under the age of 3), burp, then giggle and blow bubbles from the hole in her mouth. I'll congradulate anyone personally who can figure out the knack to getting the soap to get in and around the mouth just so, so that she blows bubbles at least most of the time. My attempts only yielded bubbles once out of every four or five tries. Oh, and if you're not careful, the bubble solution will drip around the backside of the doll's head and into what I assume are ventilation holes for the motor at the base of her head. (And somehow this toy passed safety inspection?!)
The low durability rating is mostly because the sunglasses included with the doll snap apart very easily (but can be snapped back together), and her blue sandles do not stay on her feet. Plus, there are battery compartments in both of her feet, so children (or their parents!) should take care that the screws are tightly in place.
Other things worth mentioning, this Jade, while made like the regular Big Bratz Babyz Jade, is a bit heavier since she has a motor in her head, batteries in both feet, and a speaker built into her butt.
I persnonally would only recommend this doll to children ages 6 and up, and then, maybe only 8 and up since the doll is difficut to manage and the bubble solution can be a big mess.
My advice, buy the regular Big Bratz Babyz if you really want a Bratz baby doll!

My daughter saw this on TV and really wanted it for her birthday. It was the biggest dissapointment. It's EXTREMELY HARD TO USE!!!! If you are lucky, it blows 2-3 bubbles before you have to try to wet the lips with the bottle again, before the fan kicks on. There is no chamber to hold the bubbles, and if you don't remove the bottle fast enough, or get a good film over the lips, it doesn't blow bubbles at all. Bubble liquid then runs down the side of the doll making a huge mess. Our teenage nieces were even dying to try it and gave up in less than 5 minutes. As an adult, I only got a few bubbles to blow and I only had about a 20% success rate in getting the bubbles to blow. At best, I got it to work once for every five tries. My daughter only got bubbles twice out of the 10 minute coaching session I did with her. You shouldn't have to "coach" your child and then pray it will work! A HUGE FLOP!!!

My daughter (age 6) was saving up to buy this toy because of the ad she saw on TV. It was something I wasn't going to buy, mainly because of the price and she already has too many Bratz. Get it home and it won't blow bubbles. The bubble solution runs down the neck and won't stay on the lips of the doll. I'd highly reccommend getting a different Bratz doll.
