5.0 out of 5 stars Bratz Mysteries Solved!, January 13, 2005
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Bratz: Tokyo A Go-Go Fianna (Toy)
Ok all you Bratz-haters out there, I'm going to answer most of your questions about Bratz and why people love them...

Q: Why do they have big heads and big feet?
A: According to the creators, they wanted to make their own version of Barbie. But they "switched the proportions" (Ex: Barbie has a small head, small feet, large breasts, and a large butt. Bratz are the exact opposite of Barbie.) because they felt that Barbie's body was too inappropriate for little girls.

Q: Why do they have sockets for "feet"?
A: Well, you can twist their feet/shoes to make them do Ballet positions and because you can't lose their shoes as easily as Barbie. Another thing, remember, they "switched the proportions".

Q: Did they sopy of of Diva Starz?
A: Not at all. In 2000, Poochies and other electronic toys were all the rage. And sice Diva Starz talk, move their heads, blink, and have a button on their heads, it was REQUIRED to give them big heads. As for the feet, when they ask you a question they have a "y" (yes) and "n" (no) to press on their feet and they have a special sensor so they could recognize other DS dolls. They also have a hidden "microphone" so they "know" you are talking to them.

Bratz are fashion dolls. They don't do ANY of the things Diva Starz do.

Q: Why do they look like skanks?!
A: Oh gosh, this question is so ANNOYING. THEY ARE COPYING WHAT REAL TEENS WEAR! A LOT OF TEENS HAVE BEEN DRESSING LIKE THAT BEFORE BRATZ CAME OUT! There was a Barbie doll that recently came out wearing a Chinese-style dress with COWBOY BOOTS! I don't see any teenage girl wearing that. And the My Scene Masquerade Madison doll looked like she pulled out random kitty-themed outfits from her closet.

Q: Why are the Flashback Fever Bratz costumes in the size of a little girl? It's inappropriate!
A: I also thought the costume shouldn't be marketed to little girls. But, we missed an important word: COSTUME. When you are dressing up for a play, Halloween, or just playing dress up, YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SOMETHING YOU'RE NOT! For example, many girls in Japan are conservative, but when they are dressing up as their favorite Anime/video game character, the costumes are usually skimpy, skin-tight, or both. And instead of bashing MGA for selling that costume, BASH COMPANIES THAT MAKE CATWOMAN AND COCONUT BIKINI TOPS FOR 4 YEAR OLDS!!!!

Q: What is so appealing about Bratz?
A: 1.) They dress like TEENS today.
2.) They have almost Anime-like eyes.
3.) The dolls, including Bratz Treasures and Pretty in Punk London, wear LESS eyeshadow than some of the My Scene dolls. If you don't belive me, start comparing the dolls at a store.
4.) They don't have huge breasts, huge bottoms, or a VERY skinny waist like Barbie.
5.) They have a "normal" expression on their faces, and don't smile all the time like Barbie.
6.) Bratz keep you busy 'til you're in college. Barbies only last for a few years. SIDE NOTE: My friend was a HUGE My Scene fan, but she played with them for about 1 YEAR. I got my first Bratz doll 3 years ago, and I STILL play with her (I wish I had more dolls to make it even more fun.).
7.) More ethnic diversity:
Yasmine- Hispanic
Cloe, Dana, Meygan- Caucasian
Jade- Asian (possibly from the Phillipines)
Sasha- African-American
Nevra- unknown (possibly Native-American)
Fianna- unknown
Kumi, May-Lin, Tiana- Japanese
8.) Exotic names. The only exotic name from Mattel I can think of is Nolee, Delancey, Jai, Lenara, and Lea. Other than that, Mattel has VERY boring taste in names...
9.) Yes, many people think Bratz wear revealing clothes, but THEY WEAR UNDERWEAR UNDER SKIRTS!!! Barbie just has painted underwear, or printed the polka dots with lace on her "areas". Well guess what, YOU CAN STILL SEE HER "FRONT" AND BOTTOM!

Q: Why don't they have jobs or hobbies?
A: They DO have a hobby other than shopping. They recently came out with a sports collection, which they play golf, soccer, volleyball, or cheerlead. And from what I see, the Tiana doll that came with the Dance 'n' Skate Club playset, is a DJ. Is it me or does anyone notice that Barbie hasn't come out with any sports stuff in a while, I only see her surfing these days...

Q: Someone said Bratz come with thongs, is that true?
A: NO! NO! NO TIMES 1,000,000,000!!! IT IS IMPOSSSIBLE FOR ANY DOLL TO WEAR A THONG!
I hope this answers all your questions...

I am 26 yrs. old and collect Bratz & Barbie's. When I saw the Tokyo-A-Go Go! Collection I knew I just had to have one. My husband bought me this in early Oct' 2004. I am very glad that he did. Her hair is full and thick just like the other Bratz I have bought in the past. Her clothes are sewn well, all her peices fit and her accessories are wonderful (as wonderful as little pieces of plastic can get).

Little girls would have no problem dressing or undressing her and for us collectors she looks Fab' on a doll stand!
