5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Electric Shaver, October 31, 2008
This review is from: Braun Series 5 8975 Men's Shaver (Health and Beauty)
I have been using Norelco electic shavers for the past 8 years, but it was time to buy new blades (which cost $35) and I decided to look into buying a new shaver altogether this time. My wife always complained that my face felt like sandpaper at night, but I couldnt shave with the Norelco a second time each day because it left my skin too dry.

In researching foil shavers, I found that Braun leads the competition with the best shavers. I purchased the Braun 8975 at Target for $120 and have not been disappointed. It gave me a closer cut, irritated my skin less, and took less time to shave with than my previous Norelco. Even if I skip 2 days of shaving, it doesnt pull at my beard like my Norelco, but simply mows down the hair. Additionally, I can shave with it twice a day if needed and it doesnt wreak havoc on my skin (I do use a moisturizer if a shave a second time).

The unit itself feels well built and is comfortable in my hand. It also is easy to clean - simply open the head up half way and turn on for 5 seconds over the sink. The trimmer piece makes trimming trickier than my old Norelco, but it cuts the hair closer to the skin. The battery holds its charge for 20+ shaves. It doesn't cut all the hair on my neck and so I have to keep my Mach3 around for cleanup, but that is the case for all electric shavers (say the reviews).

This is the most I have ever paid for an electric shaver, but I now realize the extra money is worth the investment. Best of all, my wife is happier with it!

This is my first "micro screen" shaver, and I could kick myself for waiting so long to try one. This is the closest shave I have ever had, and no skin irritation. I love this shaver.

4.0 out of 5 stars worth the $, September 11, 2009
This review is from: Braun Series 5 8975 Men's Shaver (Health and Beauty)
I use it daily for my face and my head. I have to charge it every other charge, but really no complaints! The trimer sucks but hey, your buying a shaver not a trimmer.Overall it worth the money. Just oil the blades after and during heavy use so that the will last a very long time.
