5.0 out of 5 stars My best toaster yet!
Since This is only the 2nd toaster I have owned I guess I can't really say I'm a toaster expert. I can say however, that I love the long narrow toaster, it is long, but much easier to put sideways against a wall/side counter than have this bulky square thing, that takes up much more counter space (like my old one). This thing also looks great, and you can fit really thick...

2.0 out of 5 stars Even toasting, for lots of toasting at one time look at others
This toaster does toast evenly as promised, but I find that if I want to toast lots of bread I have to wait for it to cool down to put my next 2 slices in. The bread will not stay down if the toaster is still hot. Has anyone else seen this? I wouldn't buy this model again unless I was single. For a family, buy a 4 slot toaster.

This thing also looks great, and you can fit really thick bread in it, and it toasts wonderfully(very even). I bought mine for $35 at Tuesday Mornings, so you may want to check that out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful but oversized, April 30, 2005

I have no complaints with this toaster other than it is a little larger than I expected. The performance is reliable and you won't be surprised about the outcome of your toast from day to day. I like this toaster and would recommend it as long as you have counterspace to sacrifice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best little toaster on the planet, January 22, 2007

My husband hated our "new" Cuisanart toaster. He longed for the day I'd bring down the Rowenta, made in West Germany, from the attic. Upon a visit to a friend's condo, we were marveling at his new upscale kitchen, and the Braun toaster caught his eye. He was totally enamored on looks alone. When he heard how easy it was to use, how perfect the toast was every time, and that it was cool to the touch (a feature of the Rowenta as well), I knew a match had been made in kitchen heaven. And, the best part was I found it on Amazon! This toaster has lived up to all its hype. It truly is the best little toaster on the planet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Toaster - Nice looking and easy to clean, November 14, 2005

I like the great style of this toaster and it works perfectly. It is a bit larger (longer) than I expected but I have enough counter space for it. Before you buy this model you need to be sure that it will fit in your space because it is the largest toaster I have ever seen. The shipping was very substandard as it took 10 days to get to me and I feel that is much too long and unacceptable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Toaster, November 24, 2005

This is a great toaster. Following the stainless steel appliance craze, this toaster is a great fit for anyone who loves evenly toasted bread but also has a sense of style.

What also sets this toaster apart from others is the way it places the two pieces of bread lengthwise in the same long slot instead of side by side. Very unconventional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Toaster, June 3, 2007
This review is from: Braun HT600 Impressions Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
It's true, it's not small but hey, it looks good taking up its spot. One slot means it can take one huge slice, or two regular ones at a time. Takes thick slices, waffles, even bagel halves. Toaster centers slices nicely, both sides get toasted evenly. Defrost works well. Bread gets toasted perfectly but not dried out like some super-slow toasters will. It doesn't beep when slices are done but I don't like things beeping at me in the morning. If you forget a slice, toaster has a reheat function. Crumb tray is easy to take out and re-insert. I've used this toaster for almost half a year, no complaints. Plus, it matches my electric water kettle WK600.

4.0 out of 5 stars Recommended Toaster, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Braun HT600 Impressions Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
With daily use this toaster has been a welcome addition to our bench top. The brushed stainless steel profile is sleek, easily cleaned and the long shape accommodates a variety of bread types. It is a consistent performer with even toasting in both the frozen and fresh settings and copes well with repeat use.

Other features liked include its quick toasting time and how the outside of the toaster always remains "cool-to-touch". In our kitchen we have also noticed that the toasters pop up mechanism is very quiet and sometimes with all the other background noises we miss the tell tale signs of when our toast is ready.

I would have to agree with a previous comment regarding a longer than expected delivery time.

Overall we are very pleased with this purchase and find its long thin footprint fits well on our kitchen bench top.

5.0 out of 5 stars The toaster that will toast your bread to perfection the first time, November 23, 2006

This Braun toaster works exceptionally well and will get your bread looking as tanned or as light as you like -- consistently. The control settings allow you to set your preferred degree of toasting. If you're like me, you'll want to adjust the browning control setting to a higher or lower temperature for different kinds of bread (bagels, whole wheat bread, etc.). For my own taste, I generally like to set the temperature dial to between settings 2 and 3, which produces uniformly toasted slices that are not too dark and not too light -- just golden, with a light crisp.

While the toaster is slightly large, it can nicely accommodate just about any 2 slices of bread. Moreover, its elegant and sleek design make you quickly forget about its size because the unit simply looks great on a kitchen counter. Its silver and black appearance and brushed metal finish give the unit a very modern look and feel. The temperature control knob and other buttons are well designed, well placed and a breeze to use. And worth noting is the fact that during the toasting process the sides and top part of the toaster don't get any hotter than warm -- so you'll never burn your hands.

This is one of those rare toasters that works great and also looks as good as it works. Many people will agree this is probably one of the best units on the market. I use mine regularly, and with each and every slice that pops up toasted to perfection I'm reminded how much I appreciate using this machine. Believe me, I'm not one to glorify kitchen appliances in general, but I felt compelled to write up this review because I'm so impressed with this particular product. And in all honesty, since my first day using this toaster I've found that my bread is tastier than ever; I couldn't tell you for sure why that is, but perhaps it has something to do with the toasting process itself or with being able to control the degree of toasting with precision. If you want your breads to come out toasted to perfection every time, I highly recommend the Braun HT600 Impressions toaster. I think you'll be quite impressed with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well - elegant, August 6, 2007
This review is from: Braun HT600 Impressions Toaster, Brushed Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
Typical of Braun products this is well designed: good size and the slot is wide enough for thick items to toast, though a thick bagel may require halving and the crumb tray is easy and convenient. As advertised, it stays cool to the touch on the outside, while doing an excellent job of toasting quickly to just the chosen setting. I doubt we'll ever use it for defrosting though the warming rack will come in useful occasionally. The mechanism is smooth and the latch latches without fuss and it looks very nice on the counter top.
