When i bought this in 1994 it sold for $50 and the problem i have had is this has not died on me yet!!!!!!It has a swing out basket,on/off switch.a basic model with aroma select that really does not do much!Pretty okay for the occasional coffee drinker.I would buy this if you are looking for something very basic,(very unlike today's models),very simple, easy to...

I was surprised that the unit was so fundamentally basic, in its design and use. This is "bare-bones", and "no frills" done to perfection. The coffee maker is made of very thin plastic, and the pins that hold the lid on are about 1/8" thick. I do not think they would break unless they were twisted. The coffee maker failed to work after the 1st pot of coffee and I sent...

What a great coffee maker for a competitive price! Enjoy a wonderfully "hot" brewed cup of coffee every time with exceptional flavor because of the great hot water delivery over the grinds. The brewing basket is a great addition. Supplier deliver was timely and the package and package arrived in "excellent condition. Recommend the Braun with five stars. Post script to my comment...coffee maker went to coffee maker heaven at exactly one year of age..switch gave way at the 11 month mark and had to be replaced almost a year to the date of purchase. Gave us good service for one year.

The coffee maker is made of very thin plastic, and the pins that hold the lid on are about 1/8" thick. I do not think they would break unless they were twisted. The coffee maker failed to work after the 1st pot of coffee and I sent it back. I wouldn't even recommend it to send with your kid to college, because it's lack of a auto-shut off feature makes it a safety hazard. I really believe that Consumer Reports got it wrong by rating this so highly.

Unless your after a "no-frills" coffeemaker, I would not recommend this pot. I have since purchased a 12 cup Cuisinart DCC-1200, which has more features, and is a quality product. It is worth the extra money.

We bought this coffee maker, after much research, for our new RV because of the size and features it had. Also, we are not big coffee drinkers since it is a 10 cup version it fit our needs. So far it has met our needs and expectations.

This is a basic coffee pot: no auto off switches, no timers, no presetting. BUT, if what you want is a reliable, durable, easy to use coffee maker that produces pot after pot of superb coffee at a very affordable price, this is your machine. It brews quickly, you can pull the pot out during the brew cycle without a mess and cleans easily. Its small size allows it to fit under upper cabinets (our house is older and the cabinets are hung lower than in newer houses.) We make several pots of coffee a day and it has lasted for years. I have bought one for our cabin and given a couple as gifts. Why spend more when this basic unit meets all basic needs? Highly recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Inexpensive Brewer, August 2, 2007
This review is from: Braun KF420-BLK Aromaster 10-Cup Coffeemaker, Black (Kitchen)
I bought this coffeemaker a year and a half ago as a temporary solution before I invested $179 in the one I really wanted at the time. I needed it to last 6 mos, and after using this little gem for 18 mos, I wouldn't trade it now. It's so basic, no frills or bells/whistles, but it makes really great coffee - and this is coming from a coffee-snob. If you're looking for a simple and very inexpensive solution, this is it. It takes up little space on your counter, and is surprisingly stylish for the price. I paid $17.00, and would pay it again to buy another one of these when/if it stops working. I would have given it 5 stars if it were more sturdy - the parts are pretty flimsy - but it's still working great after 18 mos!
