Braun KFK10L Replacement Carafe

This replacement carafe is exactly what you need if you have a working Braun KF400 coffee maker. The coffee maker makes a great cup of coffee but you'l notice that you can buy a new KF400 coffee maker for less than the cost of this carafe.

Over the past 15 years (we really like the coffee maker!) we have gone through three of these carafes - only to have them fail or break. They dribble coffee - have a cheap plastic hinge, and are the most fragile item we have to wash in our sink every day. As some reviews state, you just have to be careful - but then most of us are usually half asleep when we make our coffee.

We recently upgraded to the KF600 and love it. It has a sturdy metal thermal carafe, pours easily, and makes the same great cup of coffee. Paying a few extra bucks should prevent us from replacing anymore carafes.

In search of a replacement carafe I went to all the usual stores, BB&BY, LNT, TARGET, WAL*MART...no one carried this style for my older unit. Replacement makers were high priced versions of the same so I'm happy to have found this carafe(which has a slight improvement)to keep my older maker going strong.

searched the local variety stores and box home furnishing stores, no one carries this carafe anymore. found it on amazon, shipped without breaking and now able to drink my morning coffee again.

I completly agree with the first reviewer - the coffee maker itself is great. Its simple, inexpensive, long lasting, and makes good coffee. But the carafe is too weak. It should be made of strong pyrex glass, but instead it seems to cracks too easily. My first carafe cracked after about a year and I ordered this replacement. I was always very careful with the second one, but after about a year, it cracked also. Now I am ordering my third one. I am also like one of the other reviewers who said he refuses to buy another coffee maker out of principle. I don't like metal carafes because you cant see how much coffee you have left. I feel like I'm buying a new coffee maker each year. Its almost like the business models with ink-jet printers - sell the printers cheap and kill them with the recurring cost of ink. Here, its the recurring cost of the carafes.

I broke this carafe after 20+ years of use and Amazon had a great price and free shipping. That why amazon is a prefered source of supply for books, music, etc.

Obviously a replacement because the lid on previous item has weak links that break off of lid hinge. The replacement is the same construction and will probably break with daily use. The pouring spout is a welcome improvement but is also not very secure and sometimes disengages during the rinse out process. Otherwise we are happy and although we like the basic product, find Braun brand replacement of the entire coffee maker unavailable.

I finally broke the carafe for my Braun Aromaster KF 420 B while washing it in the sink. I considered buying another coffeemaker, but the newer ones I looked at seemed kind of flimsy. I only use a coffeemaker on weekends or other days off, so I don't need anything fancy. As other reviewers of the Braun have noted, the auto drip stop broke off a while ago, but the machine still brews a good pot of coffee.

This carafe is the exact replacement, and works great! I arrived undamaged, and you gotta love the free shipping!

It is an identical replacement to what we had. Not as flimsy as people described. I refuse to buy a new coffee maker (even if it is only double the price of the caraffe) if the one we currently have works and makes great coffee. I thought it was worth it!

Super Fast delivery, Product is as advertised. Love the coffe maker, the lid is not the greatest, the clear plastic pourer part is easily broken. The hinges aren't stron enough.

First, I want to say thank you to everyone who wrote a review. I was/am in the same boat as everyone else who loves the coffee maker but hate the carafe breaking all the time. And, it broke at the worst time...the weekend I was hosting my mother-in-law. In a panic, I seriously considered buying a new coffee maker but I love that the Braun is small, simple, and brews a HOT pot of coffee so it was worth buying "another" carafe and pay for the rush shipping charges. My Braun is over 15 yrs old and I hope it'll last many more years. The carafe fit perfectly and I actually think the glass is a tad thicker. Thank you Amazon for carrying those hard to find items that are no longer available.
