The glass is very fragile on these pots. You definitely need to be careful washing them. But the coffeemakers are so great you have to live with it. Otherwise, I like the design of the pot and the easily removable lid. Just handle with caare.

This is the 2nd replacement carafe I've purchased for my Braun coffeemaker. The one I purchased from amazon.com is by far superior to the 1st replacement. The glass is much thicker, more like a "normal" carafe you'd find for an excellent maker like the Braun 12-cup maker. The 1st replacement was very thin, and I had to be extra careful with it. I am completely satisfied with this one. Honestly, I expected this carafe to be like the 1st one, the thinner version. If you need a replacement carafe for your Braun 12-cup maker, do not hesitate to purchase one here. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

The replacement carafe does not compare to the carafe that comes with the coffeemaker. The glass is thinner, plastic is cheaper, handle is loose from the glass, I hold my breath every time I wash it, knowing it will break any second. I'll never buy another Braun Coffeemaker again, after this carafe breaks the whole kit & caboodle will go in the trash. I'll also recommend to family & friends that they steer clear of Braun.

This carafe is the only carafe that will operate properly with the Braun Flavorselect coffee maker due to unique design of no-drip, auto-cutoff feature of coffee filter basket. I tried several universal/adjustable carafes, which did not allow coffee maker drip filter to work normally. On the plus side it is attractive, clear glass and dishwasher safe. However, it is not shatter proof or resistant. Mine broke easily with minor bumps into faucet or counter-top. That's why I bought two carafes the second time, since the model is unique and not available in my local stores.

This replacement carafe cracked after 3 months. The orginal carafe had thicker glass and lasted greater than four years. The coffee maker itself creates very repeatable good coffee. I am buying one more replacement carafe and if it breaks, I will buy a different brand of coffee maker. Someone at Braun saved a little too much money on the carafe at the expense of reliability.

... The appliance itself is great. I've had my Braun for about 6 years now and it hasn't even hinted of breaking down on me. The timer still works faithfully after all these years and I wake up to fresh coffee every morning. NOW...... As for the carafes...I've gone through 2 and still haven't replaced the third one I broke a few weeks ago. Not just any replacement carafe will fit...the Braun engineer$ made $ure of that. You must buy the $pecial carafe made for the FlavorSelect model. At this time..I have a saucepan catching my coffee, until I find a replacement carafe locally. I've been checking here...but Amazon doesn't seem to be in a rush to restock.

In spite of the negative reviews written about the Braun
replacement caraffe we needed one. The original was an
eggshell-thin piece of glass that we babied for 1 1/2 yrs.
It broke while washing it much as others have described.
Our suprise was to find that the replacement had heavier-
duty glass than the original! Has Braun heard complaints
and reverted to previous standards? Four stars! It still
could be a little sturdier yet!

I Bought my BRAUN Coffeemaker 11 Months ago. The Coffeemaker is a good product but, the glass Carafe is paper thin. this is the second time I am replacing it in a month. I learned, you do not wash it by hand because you cannot apply any pressure to the glass without it cracking. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

When I read the other reviews, I was a bit nervous about ordering this replacement pot, but I love my Flavor Select coffee maker and wanted to keep it after breaking the spout off my pot. Not sure what the other reviewers received, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the glass on this Braun pot is thicker and heavier than the orginal pot that came with my coffeemaker. I'm looking forward to lots more coffee from my coffeemaker!!

The original carafe that came with my coffee maker was very thin and fragile. Thus, when I ordered the replacement, I expected the same of it; however, I was very pleasantly surprised that this carafe is far thicker and more robust than the original.
