5.0 out of 5 stars Must-have kitchen gadget!
I bought this product in order to prepare my special butternut squash soup this Thanksgiving. In the past, I've had to transfer the soup to a blender in order to liquify it to the proper consistency. This year preparation was SO much easier thanks to this Braun handheld blender. It works like a charm on smoothies, too. The best part is the easy cleanup--you just pull...

2.0 out of 5 stars Good, not great
This boat motor does the job, but takes forever to get it done. Its limited power of 200 watts is a severe hindrance. Merely pureeing carrots in chix stock (quart total volume) left quite a few chunks after nearly 30 seconds of blending. It is however, easy to clean and quieter than your average blender or food processor. Do yourself a favor and get the Braun 430, with...

Do yourself a favor and get the Braun 430, with 50% more power and only a minor price difference.

This year preparation was SO much easier thanks to this Braun handheld blender. It works like a charm on smoothies, too. The best part is the easy cleanup--you just pull the attachment off the end and throw it in the dishwasher. It stores easily, too...as one who has grown weary of numerous large appliances taking up cabinet space, I appreciate that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, July 18, 2005
This review is from: Braun MR400HC-WH Multiquick Hand Blender with Chopper (Kitchen)
I love this. It's great because it has the little chopper attachment, which acts like a mini food processor. And I can also use it to blend soups and make tomato sauce without having to lug out the big blender or food processor. When I bought it, I didn't realize the one I was buying didn't come with the whisk attachment. (you're supposed to be able to buy this seperately too. Although I haven't found it yet) It would have been nice to have, but not a necessity. It chops, blends and cleans up very quickly too. A must have.

A great gift idea for a wedding shower gift...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous if used properly, November 18, 2005
This review is from: Braun MR400HC-WH Multiquick Hand Blender with Chopper (Kitchen)
This is an indispensable tool in my kitchen. I use it for pureeing sauces, soups and correcting gravy mishaps. It works great if you do not place it vertically at the bottom of your bowl or pan. It works best if you place it on the bottom of bowl/pan and tilt the blender a bit. In this way it is stable and it's able to pull ingredients into blades more quickly for a smoother finish. I use the chopper for everything except hard cheese (learned the hard way). Must have kitchen gadget!

5.0 out of 5 stars Braun hand blender, March 26, 2008

I love this hand blender. The first one I had died and I did not know how fast to go out and get another one. Instead of getting out a big blender to make things like applesauce, smoothies, mashed potatoes, etc. and then have to clean up the whole machine, all you need is this small hand blender. I highly recommend it. It takes up little space, cleans up nicely and does a great job.

I bought this when my blender broke due to shipping. I wasn't going to stay long so I got something cheap. 6 years later it's still going strong. I wouldn't have written a review but I recently bought a $300 food processor and it can't grind as well as my little braun! It's great to use if you need to liquidize soups. I do it right in the pan while the soup is still hot (boiling sometimes) as someone else pointed out you need to keep it at an angle to the base of the pan but make sure the whole of the bottom is submerged or you'll get it on the ceiling (happened to me). I've read that this model doesn't come with the wisk. 6 years ago it did. It's a pretty useless attachment. This machine is also perfect for baby food because the blade is small and you can do tiny amounts with relatively little liquid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Phony product description: NO WHISK!, January 16, 2008
This review is from: Braun MR400HC-WH Multiquick Hand Blender with Chopper (Kitchen)
The product features list "whisk" and lo and behold when you get your package you will figure it has no WHISK attachment ! they want you to buy the more expensive 430model. Braun has DISOWNED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR PRODUCT DESCRIPTION !!! I am still doing the rounds to get "someone" to pay for the whisk attachment !

This is the second boat motor I have owned. The first one still works great, but we needed a new chopping bowl. If either of these ever wear out, I'm sure we will buy another. We use it for everything from hummus to salsa to sauces. If it is good enough for Tyler Florence, it is good enough for us.
