Good product for a good price,
By Sean P. Logue "If you can't win, change the r... (Research Triangle Park, NC USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Braun Oral-B AdvancePower 400 Toothbrush D4010W (Health and Beauty)
I bought this toothbrush because I was considering buying one of the more expensive, premium models, and I wasn't sure whether I wanted a Braun 3D unit or a Sonicare. I needed to replace my manual toothbrush regardless, which is a Braun Cross-Action (by far the best manual toothbrush I've tried, and I was using a Radius manual that cost three times as much before I tried the Cross-Action). I thought that for a bit more money I could try out the Braun without the large monetary commitment required for the 3D version or the Sonicare.Well, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I was concerned that the tiny little brushhead would take forever to brush with, but it turns out that the compact size together with the electric brushing action makes short work of the process. The handle is great too, with rubber inserts for easy grip, and is waterproof enough to rinse off in the sink. Plus, there isn't a problem with using regular toothpaste with it, which has been a negative for electric brushes in the past. My five year old Interplak, for example, would jam if used with toothpaste. The price is great too, with the entire brush costing less than a Sonicare replacement brush pack (and that pack doesn't include the toothbrush!). It does have one negative, though, and that's the noise. I find noise while I'm trying to use something very irritating, and this is no exception. It is really quite loud, especially when holding it right next to your head, as when brushing teeth. However, that negative applies to electric brushes in general so just keep in mind that this is one of the tradeoffs to using an electric over a manual model. Overall, highly recommended.

Best Brushing Experience,
By A Customer
This review is from: Braun Oral-B AdvancePower 400 Toothbrush D4010W (Health and Beauty)
This new toothbrush by Oral B is the best I've tried, both for effectiveness at cleaning and for ease of use. I have grown to love battery toothbrushes - they're so much faster at cleaning my teeth than me standing there scrubbing up and down with a regular toothbrush. I have bought some of the [cheaper] versions, but those seem really fake to me - like someone just threw some bristles on a vibrating stick. The Oral B brush seems well designed and thought out.

I'm gonna keep using it,
I have been using a Braun Oral B for more than 15 years. My dentist recommended it because I was wearing my enamal down by brushing too aggresively (I wanted them clean). Awesome product. The small round brush allows me to clean each tooth individually on all sides. I let the brush do the work I just move it to the next area to clean. I also floss very throughly. I takes me about five minutes to clean my teeth but it's all worth it when my dentist comments that he wished all his patients cleaned their teeth as well.I origanally used the brush with the charger. Life changed my situation and I started to use the replaceable battery version due to a lack of counter space for a charger. I love it for that fact and that it's just as thorough as I want it to be. One minor inconvienence is replacing the batteries. Opposite sides of the base need to be pushed simultaneouly. I don't have the strength to do it so I push the one side on the corner of the counter and the other side with my thumb. Sometimes I have to work at it a bit but am always successful. One major problem is water getting in. There is an "O" ring in the base to keep water out. I remove and clean the ring and base with a dry regular tooth brush when ever I change the batteries. I'm also very careful in not abusing it such as not banging it and drying it off when done. With all my special care every single one I've owned inevitably leaks. I dry it out, rough up the contacts (they rust quickly) and sometimes it's ready to go again and sometimes it's off to the garbage. I still love it and will continue to use it. My only hope is that it will continue to be made.
