I am a 21 year old adult and I bought this book for myself. The illustrations are so gorgeous that I was unable to walk out of the store without it. Regrettably Amazon doesn't have a 'look inside' feature, but the art on the front is the same style found within; whimsical, free-flowing lines, with a very watercoloured feel to them.

As other reviewers have said, this is a very short read. If you're only reading the words. But for the nature of this book (as it is intended for children, though all can enjoy it) one should find themselves spending a few minutes staring at the beautiful illustrations, scenery, and over all atmosphere of it.

I wish I could share with you one of my favourite pages, but it's ten pages into the book, "I go where the wind steers me... and I let the world reveal itself." There are teensy tiny little messages like that (go outside, explore, stay curious) throughout the book (hidden in illustrations or the words) to inspire those of all ages.

This review probably doesn't make it sound as fantastic as it is. So: Get the book. Your shelves will thank you.

Besides the amazing and quality illustrations, I was surprised how much I enjoyed the simple but creative writing of the short story. The story takes about 3 minutes to read...even with questions by curious kids between pages...so its perfect for a bedtime line up or just during the day if a child brings it to you wanting to hear it. My kids are ages 4,5,7, and 9 and all of them enjoy this book. I'm 30 and enjoyed it myself! Well worth the money.

After watching the movie, I bought my 2 and a half year-old son this book. It's not very girlie at all, which I had concerns about before purchasing. My son loves for me to read it over and over. It's not a very long story, but it has engaging pictures - my son always asks, "What is (she, it, they) doing?" The book also introduced my son to some "big" words like "elegant" and "chortling". I appreciate a book that broadens the vocabulary. Overall, VERY pleased!

This book has quickly become a favorite for my daughter and I to read. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is similar to the movie without being too long.

With whimsical watercolors and a sense of breathless exhilaration, "One Perfect Day" is a beautiful way for children to revisit the world of Pixar's BRAVE in a brand-new adventure. The visuals are just lovely, and they're striking in how different they are from the movie yet how well they capture the essence of Merida and her world.

The story is short and well-told in simple sentences that young children can enjoy. Early readers will delight in the short sentences and, like Merida's perfect day, feel a sense of exhilaration after conquering the text. And while the story is quite simple and short, it also has a message worth remembering: go ahead, stretch your wings, be free -- explore!

In summary: A wonderful bonus adventure for fans of Merida. (Aren't we all?) I highly recommend it for children and parents. It's perfect.
