5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for cyclists., February 20, 2008

I've been using this on every kind of scrape, rash, chaffing, skin abrasion, and small cut I've had since I bought it. I put it on when I cut myself shaving or where my Spring allergies have caused me to rub a spot near my eye raw.

In addition to healing and protecting--both of which it does better than bacitracin or neosporin on all but deep cuts--it's also quite pleasant. It's not greasy, nor so thin in consistency that it just comes right off if you don't put a band-aid over it. Petroleum jelly by comparison seems to add its own bit of irritation that this does not; and this provides some bit of pain relief as well for those knicks, bug bites, and rashes that sting or itch. Add that it smells nice.

BOTTOM LINE: On minor knicks, I just put a bit of this ointment on and I'm good to go. On chaffing, it provides quick relief and healing--though better to go with Brave Soldier Friction Zone Skin Protectantover the long term.

Stick a tube of this in your backpack for a hike, bike, or camping trip--it will come in extremely handy when you just need a bit of relief from a minor irritation that's not really worth the full first-aid treatment.

Great stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars The quintessential all-in-one product for cuts and scrapes, April 22, 2010
This review is from: Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment (Health and Beauty)
I've been using the Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment for years, and it is amazing, as advertised. It's great for kids because the pain disappears instantly. A one ounce tube of this lasts me for years. If you have kids, or if you are just very active and occasionally injure yourself, you must carry this around at all times.

5.0 out of 5 stars the BEST antibiotic ointment, December 4, 2011

This review is from: Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment (Health and Beauty)
I had a deep ulcer on my toe for several weeks. Triple antibiotic and bacitracin caused burning pain to the area. Even plain olive oil was painful. I bought Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment. A WORLD of difference in healing and in pain management. Area totally healed in a few weeks. GREAT ointment to have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable, August 19, 2011

Since discovering this ointment, I find that this is something I cannot live without. What is does for every type of boo-boo is nothing short of miraculous. The speed of healing is unbelievable. I've used many antiseptic ointments over the years, and Brave Soldier is far superior to anything else on the market. My adult daughter feels the same way. She has used this product not only on herself, but on her dog. The speed with which Brave Soldier healed some very nasty dog owies was remarkable. I highly recommend this product.

I have never found anything like this healing ointment. Forget Neosporin or any other over the counter antiseptic ointment. This one tops them all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect catch all, February 14, 2011

After reading many reviews & advice about traveling I purchased a tube of this to take with me on a three week Urban Study trip to France. It was perfect for blisters from walking. It stops the pain & speeds the healing. Since I've returned home I've used it on everything from itchy bug bites to ingrown toenails. The tube lasts a very long time, because you only need a dab. I wouldn't be without it, both at home and when traveling!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for tattoos!, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment (Health and Beauty)
I am no expert but I use this for my new tattoos and they heal great. I wash my new tattoo with dial antibacterial soap just 2 times a day and then pat dry with a clean towel. Put brave soldier on but not too much. Then leave it alone and dont touch or itch it with my dirty hands. Heals a tattoo in less than week for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing stuff, December 29, 2006
A friend gave me a 1 oz. jar a few years ago and I finally ran out. I'm back here to get more. I've never heard of a product that does what this one does. It kills pain almost instantly while preventing infection and speeding healing. It also helps to prevent scars. It also helps when removing splinters because it deadens the pain and it kind of acts to trap and remove debris, all while giving you a clear view of the wound.

I bought a tube of Brave Soldier a few years ago because we needed something like Bactine and I liked the name (what? I'm shallow sometimes). Now I won't be without it. It does provide some pain relief, but it mostly really works to prevent infection and speed healing. My husband and I have both used it on cuts and burns, and now that I have a child I'm ordering extra.
