This review is from: Braving the Flames: Their Toughest Cases In Their Own Words (Mass Market Paperback)
One of the best books about firefighting ever written. Many of the firefighters interviewed are nationally known now, some because of their teaching, but one because he lost two sons on 9/11. Not only is each interview interesting from an entertainment perspective, they detail and explain many firefighting tactics and FDNY operations better than any operational manual or textbook.
The book is a great companion to Dennis Smith's Report from Engine Co 82, as the interviews discuss those years at length.

A Great novel, written "as it is", as you hear it in the station house... as it is on the run... as it is, when you go it and it's time to rock and roll...
