4.0 out of 5 stars "Bravo" to the Weekender Canopy
I have always wanted one of these. This one was a steal at $89.99. The first one, was damaged during shipping. As usual, Amazon was stellar with customer service. Almost all of the plastic corner connectors were cracked. It was as if it were dropped. This tells me to be careful with it and do not jostle it too much while it is in its packing bag. Certainly do not...

3.0 out of 5 stars Super easy to mount
I like this tent a lot. It is easy to mount, and sturdy. The only problem is the white sidewall screening which blocks vision of the night sky. I really, really wish they offered dark screening instead, because I feel does a better job overall and doesn't block the view as much even in full daylight. Also, the screen tears very easily, so be careful with sharp objects...

4.0 out of 5 stars "Bravo" to the Weekender Canopy, May 16, 2007
This review is from: Bravo Weekender 12 x 12 Quik Shade Instant Canopy (Sports)
I have always wanted one of these. This one was a steal at $89.99. The first one, was damaged during shipping. As usual, Amazon was stellar with customer service. Almost all of the plastic corner connectors were cracked. It was as if it were dropped. This tells me to be careful with it and do not jostle it too much while it is in its packing bag. The system itself was easy to use. I was able to set it up alone and I am only 5'2. Packed, it is a little heavy, but not unmanageable. It has wheels. I would not leave it out in the elements and the directions recommend you do not fold the canopy into the frame when packing it, however remove it and fold it separately, as it was when shipped. This pretty much makes the "instant" claim null. I may or may not follow that practice, but if I choose not to, I will not expect the canopy itself to last as long as it would if I had. For the price, it is well worth it. Do not expect the quality of a $200 system. It is very light weight, but is sturdy enough. I recommend the leg weights. It does come with stakes that store nicely in the carrying bag. If the legs do not "lock" while setting it up, the correct angle of the leg has not been achieved. They angle outward from the center of the unit and I had one of the legs too upright. Once this angle was corrected, it snapped into place. I am impressed.

Get it, you know you want to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good canopy for the money, May 24, 2007
Paid $79.00 each for two of these and they did the job very well. If I had to complain it would be that the fabric covering while very light, is a little too light. Tore off a velcro strip with ease by accident. Otherwise these are very nice and provide great shelter from the sun as they were intended. Stakes hold them secure to the ground and it is very windy where I live.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Easy, January 21, 2007

I have only borrowed these tents in the past but finally bought my own. The 12 x 12 is actually a 10x10 awning with legs that spread to 12x12. The shade is so easy to put up and the carry case with wheels is super strong. You can even put the shade away with the awning still attached.
A great shade awning!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice shade tree, August 15, 2006
I am well pleased with this product which is real good construction. The joints are what makes it great , but be careful that the side brace arms point in instead of out when you put it up to keep from breaking the joints.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good tent, June 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
We took this tent to the beach and it went up very easily the first time. Neither me or my girlfriend had put one of these up before, but we found this thing very easy to use and it provided an excellent amount of shade on the beach. The white canopy was quite opaque, i thought there would be a degree of translucency to it, which was not the case at all. Shade like there's a solid roof over your head.
We'll see how this thing holds up over time, but so far, so good. The carrying case has wheels on it, which makes it nice. the tent folds up nicely and can be stored in the backseat (too big for trunk) of my 1994 Honda Accord.
The tent is very sturdy and this was one of the better purchases i've made over the past few years. Can't wait to use it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea for Babies, June 6, 2007
We purchased the Quik Shade Instant Canopy to take with us on a family reunion to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The family included 11 children under the age of 12, with three being young babies. The canopy was easy to set up and take down. It provided great shade for the baby pool on the beach and several chairs for adults supervising the babies. We later transferred the canopy to the inground pool, which also did not have any shade. I wish I had gotten the weights to go with it and I will buy them in the future. I feel that the Canopy was an excellent buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Quality / Great Price, May 28, 2007
This is my second Quick Shade. The first one I had got caught in a wind storm and destroyed. You can't beat the quality of a Quick Shade... you can find these canopies cheaper made by Quest or someone else but you get what you pay for. The Quick Shades set up easy, they are sturdy and they have a quality canopy that fits snug and looks great. Just remember to stake them down in the wind!!!

This is a good quality canopy and the product matches it's description well. We've now used this a number of times with no issues. For me, I need another adult to help get it setup. I can't seem to find the "trick" to getting the metal frame to stretch just doing it myself. I'd guess putting the canopy up takes about 5min for two adults including putting the canopy over the frame. Taking it down is easier, but I'd guess 5min is about right if you include getting it in the bag. The roller bag is of med quality, but good enough. Be warned the canopy is heavy and awkward due to it's size. The rollers help, but I imagine it would be a challenge for a smaller person to get the canopy in and out of a car. I also saw some complaints that the material was too light. I would concur the material is not real heavy duty canvas, but I thought it was OK.

Overall, I think this is a very good product for the price. By the way, be careful to check prices. I purchased for $89 here at Amazon, our local sports retail had a "sale" on the 10x10 for $99, so this 12x12 was a very good deal.

4.0 out of 5 stars worth the price, October 11, 2007

I was amazed at the ease of which this canopy goes up. I suggest taking the time to remove the tarp from the frame each time you fold the canopy up, as it will tend to pinch and possbily tear.

While using tailgating, there was a very windy thunderstorm that rolled through. The criss cross frame bent 1/3rd of the way in, on the side the wind was hitting. It is due to the plastic pieces that are connected together for the hinging, rather than connecting throught the framework.

I would recommed use for any event, other than when winds are greater than 10 miles and hour.
