Brazen,
By Kelly "Reviewer for The Sinfully Sensuous" (Littleton, Colorado) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Brazen (Paperback)
Jasmine Quinn has been away from home for a long painful year. She hadn't been able to deal with her feelings for both brothers Seth and Zane Morgan, so she had fled the home she loved at Sweetwater Ranch. She had learned a lot over the past year in Paris, and came to the conclusion that she was going to have them both. There was no reason to force a choice from anyone. Now, the hard part came - convincing Seth and Zane it would be okay for them to both love her.
They were both trying desperately to distance themselves from Jaz. Seth and Zane had been taking care of her since she was sixteen, and she had become part of their family. How could animal attraction have cropped up between them now? Seth knew how wrong his feelings were toward her, so he avoided her at every turn, and even went so far as to hurt her deeply by telling her she was not special, but could be any woman to him. Zane tried to keep Jaz at arms length, but it didn't work for him. He was tired of pretending that she wasn't someone he had loved for years, and that he burned to be with her. Jasmine knew she wasn't handling this situation well. Zane didn't seem to have a problem with her loving them both. In fact he seemed to understand how she could love both he and his brother. She couldn't be with just one of them because that would tear her heart in two. For her, unfortunately, it was all or nothing, and Zane was on board, but Seth was another story. He was pulling away from her farther and farther every day. Jaz knew she had to find a way to reach Seth or she would have to leave, and be without them both forever. Highly erotic emotionally charged story that will engage you from the start. Zane and Seth are true Texas cowboys with strength and dominance dripping off them, but they also have a tender and loving side. A combination like that would be hard to resist! Jaz has strength and the conviction that they belong together with the determination to make it happen! Once again a must read from MB.

Jasmine is returning home after a year abroad. Her time in Paris expanded her horizons in more ways than she could ever have anticipated, and she is now ready to return home to the two men she has long loved but thought she could never have. You see, she loves both of the Morgan brothers, but could never have chosen between Seth and Zane. Now she knows she just might not have to. The problem will be persuading the two men - not to mention convincing them to see her as a woman instead of the child they first met all those years ago... But Jaz just may be Brazen enough to do it!
If you were to ask me to recommend a great author of ménage romance, Maya Banks would be at the top of my list. Heck, she is at the top of my list of romantic authors, actually. But back to the ménage. LOL Banks has a knack not only for writing some pretty intense M/F/M love scenes, but for delivering compelling reasons for the ménage relationships. Rarely are her trios simply a fling; they almost always end up together for the long haul, with the heroine legally married to one of the men but bound to both (or all, in the case of Colters' Woman.) Jasmine is a great match for the two Morgan brothers - sassy and strong-willed with a determination to match their stubbornness and overpower their reluctance. Of course, it just might be their deep-rooted love for her that helps her case just a bit... J Jasmine pulls out all the stops to seduce the men she needs in her life, and demands all or nothing. Seth and Zane are enough to make any woman's knees wobbly. A couple of honest to goodness cowboys, they bear all the traits you'd expect in a sexy alpha male hero - nobility, strength, tenderness, possessiveness, and an ability to love to the depths of their souls. It is easy to empathize with why both men fight their desire for Jaz, but oh boy is it hot when they finally start to lose that battle!!! Brazen has it all - enough titillation to heat you all the way through even on the coldest winter night, and so much love that you know you'll never feel cold again if you could just be in Jaz's shoes. If you crave wonderfully spicy romances with a ménage theme, you will want to buy your copy of Maya Banks' Brazen tonight!

For the last year, Jasmine has been living in Paris. She decides she is ready to come home and calls the two men that mean the most to her: Seth and Zane Morgan. Years ago Seth and Zane rescued Jasmine and took her into their home, thus saving her from a life of drudgery and prostitution. Neither man has ever looked at her as anything but a younger sibling. That is going to change if Jasmine has her way. She wants them to see her as the woman she has become and realize that the young girl they raised and protected is now grown up and knows what she wants - which just happens to be both Seth and Zane in her life, in her bed, forever.
Seth and Zane have spent the last year missing the one person in their lives that they both love. The time has passed slowly and is almost unbearable until Jaz calls and asks to come home. Neither man wants to admit that they suddenly see their Jasmine in a new and sensual light. When she left for Paris she was an almost waiflike, innocent girl, she returned as a beautiful woman who entices them at every turn. While each man wants Jasmine, it is going to take a lot of convincing for them to agree to what she proposes. Seth and Zane do not want to give Jasmine up, but they are unsure if they can share - especially Seth and it seems that Jasmine is not willing to settle for less. Like fine chocolate and great coffee, Brazen simply whisked me away to Texas and the ranch of Seth and Zane Morgan. I watched Jasmine as she took the biggest chance of her life and held my breath in anticipation of Seth and Zane's reactions. Out of the two brothers, Zane was more laid back accepted things easier than Seth. My love for Zane's character was almost instantaneous and held fast the entire book. Seth, in true older sibling style, took a bit more convincing and seemed a tad more stubborn. He often times didn't think before he spoke and in one instance I wanted to reach into the pages and grab him by the neck and make him listen to what he was saying to both his brother and Jasmine. In his defense, however, when he made his decision, his true character shined. He was thoughtful, loving, and quite the charmer. As for Jasmine, she had more guts than ten men and I found her love of Seth and Zane refreshing, while it couldn't be termed 'innocent' it was almost angelic in a sense that it was real, true, and unconditional. I could not put Brazen down and have no choice but to highly and joyfully recommend it for this month. Maya Banks is on a roll and I, for one, think that she deserves every great thing that is coming her way. Run, don't walk to Samhain and purchase Brazen. It is truly an outstanding read.

I really wanted to sink my teeth into this book, especially after reading Coulter's Woman. But there was just something missing from this story that made it hard for me to enjoy. Don't get me wrong it was a thoroughly like-able book, but I was expecting more.
Zane loves Jaz, Seth loves Jaz, Jaz love both Zane and Seth, everyone has known each other for the past 6 years now so there should've been some better defined and explosive chemistry. But there wasn't, the chemistry came in waves, low at some points and high at others. Zane was the main person I liked in this book, he didn't fight the issue and took it for what it was (or what it could be). Seth fought it tooth and nail and was willing to hurt the person he loved so that he didn't have to share. Jaz started out naive in her way of thinking, and was whiny at sometimes. The plot was kind of blah, the sex scenes got really good toward the end, but I don't know whether or not this is a keeper.

Jasmine needs to Grow up First,
By Cindy "romance lover" (Cedar Park, TX) - See all my reviews

Normally I love Ms. Banks, but this story left me a little annoyed. Jasmine moves to Paris because she cant decide what to do because she love Seth and Zane both and she cant choose. She comes home to convince them to both love her like she does them. Seth very gruff loves Jasmine but doesn't think he can share the women he loves with his brother Zane. I just couldn't get into this story with Jasmine going back and forth between the two brothers even getting them to fight over her. Just felt her to be very immature and selfish really only thinking about her own wants and desires. Just me but I also like it better when in a threesome relationship that there is one the girl likes more and the third is along for a fun ride and them not all three living happily ever after, but thats just me.

A year ago Jasmine `Jaz' Quinn left Texas for Paris in the hopes that she'd find a way to get over her feelings for Seth and Zane Morgan. It didn't work, if anything her love for the two men has just grown stronger over the time she's been away. Thanks to her friend Cherisse, Jaz has come to realize that a polyamorous relationship could work - if she can convince both men to love her as much as she loves them.
Seth and Zane Morgan have done their best to view Jaz as a little sister but there's no doubt that they share in a desire for the little minx. What neither of them anticipated was Jazz's returning from Paris with a new seductiveness about her and obvious determination to entice both of them to forgo their good intentions and give into the emotional and physical pull they feel for her. From the moment the plane lands in Texas it's obvious that nothing is ever going to be the same. There's a heightened sense of awareness between Jaz, Seth and Zane that hadn't been present before. Of course the fact that Jaz launches herself into Zane's arms and follows it up with a lip lock leaving no doubt about her desires. Unfortunately while Zane doesn't require a whole lot of convincing to see her as a desirable young woman, Seth is going to be quite a bit more difficult to persuade to give up the `big brother' role. While Jaz goes about seducing each of the brothers individually, tensions build between the men. Seth is becoming increasingly jealous of Jaz and Zane's closeness and Zane is battling is own confusion over his desire for Jaz. Jaz soon realizes that her plans to seduce Seth and Zane are causing major problems between the men she loves. She's going to have to be honest and tell the men exactly what she wants but then she learns that Sean is venomously opposed to the idea of sharing her with his brother. For Jaz it's an all or nothing situation and she's willing to do whatever she has to in order to garner their attention. She loves them both equally and being forced to choose between them isn't an option. Will she be able to convince him that the three of them could be very happy together? Maya Banks presents readers with another of her powerfully written menage stories which will have them riveted to the pages. In addition to the exciting aspects of the relationship between Jaz, Sean and Zane there's a shocking story as to how Jaz originally came to live with Sean and Zane which I found captivating. As with every Maya Banks book I've read the characters are strong individuals with problems and quirks that make them seem very real. For a smokin' hot storyline you won't be able to put down pick up a copy of BRAZEN - you won't be sorry you did. Chrissy Dionne (courtesy of Romance Junkies)

"Brazen" is the first in Queen-of-the-menage Maya Banks 'Brazen' series. Her sex scenes are very erotic and her characters are very tortured and normally I like that. But there was just something about this one that kept needling at me and kept me from enjoying it as much as her other books.
Brothers Seth and Zane are in the big city bar after a successful presentation for their ranch when they are approached by a very young woman offering one of them sex. After hustling her out of the bar and the out of the sight of her pimp, they take her for some much needed sustenance and get the whole story from the sixteen year old with nowhere to go. Just like that, Jasmine becomes a part of their life. They take her to their ranch, hire a housekeeper/mother figure, and work to erase the shadows from Jasmine's eyes. Several years later, and after a year in Paris away from the ranch and Seth and Zane, Jasmine is ready to return. Her time away was good for her and hopefully, now, the 'boys' will see her as the woman she is instead of the girl they rescued. Jasmine wants that very much as she loves BOTH of them...as a woman loves. But Jasmine will need all her wiles and all her patience to woo both men into a sharing relationship. So! Yes, they both love her...THAT way and yes, the brothers have a hard time with the thought of 'sharing' even though they've participated in threesomes before. But that was for fun, not for life and Seth especially isn't sure he can accept a situation like what Jasmine is asking for. Maybe what bothered me about this one is that Jasmine is obviously the aggressor in this relationship. Why does that bug me? I honestly have no idea...but it does. The younger brother is quick to fall to her seductions, but the older brother Seth, the authority figure and responsible caretaker, has some very serious issues with Jasmine. I guess I felt that Jasmine didn't give his thoughts the serious contemplation they deserved. Or maybe it was because I felt she pretty much forced herself on him...but either way, it left me irritated and little appalled. However, it all worked out and the three all get their HEA and the book was pretty darn hot. I'm not sorry I read it and maybe I just need to open my mind a bit more and this book can help with that. It's not one for my keeper shelf, but it wasn't a 'wall-banger' either!

brazen,
This review is from: Brazen (Paperback)
i thought this book will tell us a story of strong feelings of three persons who really love each other so much that a heroine has gone to overseas to get herself together.but you can't feel that affection betw them.I know its only erotica not some masterpiece but in the end you want to feel it anyway.there is no strong chemistry,no saucy-hot scenes,no reasonable plot to evolve.

A Big Dissapointment,
This review is from: Brazen (Paperback)
I purchased this book because it was recommended and I wanted a little menage. Well thats all I got, was a little. I was so dissapointed! Jaz altered between brazen and confused, crying in dark trauma then demanding that the brothers see her as a woman. This story had emotion but lacked the fire I was looking for. Even the Morgan brothers, who you definetly want to sink into go back and forth like its a big moral dilemma - they have shared lovers before. Alot of potential but not much delivery - foreplay but not a satisfying climax. Don't waste your money - I'm just glad I didn't pay full price for this mess.
