From Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian women know how to work a bikini. They are fit, vivacious, sexy, and glowing - they've got that special something - and it shows. You too can discover the secrets of the Brazilian approach to eating, living, and enjoying life.

In The Brazilian Bikini Body Program, Regina Joseph, a former jet-setter turned fitness professional shares her uniquely Brazilian take on how to get sexier in both body and mind.  Her body-sculpting, weight-reducing, and energy-boosting program will have you slipping into your sexiest beachwear in just 30 days.

Complete with meal plans, recipes, and a fully-illustrated exercise plan, Regina will help you:

Come! (Eat): Taste the bounty of the Brazilian jungle and its nutritionally potent superfoods, and reap the rewards of a bold, flavorful diet that keeps you satisfied and in great bikini shape.

Se Mexe! (Move It!): Build your core of strength with exercises that combine the moves of Pilates and capoeira, the Brazilian martial art - for a powerful, sexy body.

Use Jeitinho (That special way): Replace stress and fatigue with passion and gusto by embracing the Brazilian approach to living in bliss.

To Brazilians, the good life is about food, frolic, and fun. They savor delicious and nutritious meals, radiate vitality, and embrace life. By learning how to move through life with ease and joy like the Brazilians do, anyone can ultimately glow like the girl from Ipanema. Let The Brazilian Bikini Body Program show you how.

30 days of delicious, vitamin and anti-oxidant-packed superfoods of the Amazon in authentic, satisfying Brazilian recipes.  With daily meal plans you will have breakfast, lunch, and dinner the way they dine in Brazil.  You will eat well without sacrificing flavor or a pleasurable dining experience.  This step-by-step, easy-to-follow program provides complete shopping lists, guidelines on food preparation, and a day-by-day calendar of what to eat and when to eat it.

30 days of core-strengthening exercise will leave you stronger, increase your flexibility, and will tone your body with a unique workout not found in any other program.  You will develop a leaner, stronger, and more agile body by blending the basics of both Pilates and Capoeira into daily workouts that fit into even the busiest schedules, in fact, there are three different workouts to suit your time and fitness levels.  The easy-to-follow exercises are fully illustrated.

30 days of re-adjusting your mindset will teach you how to let the little things slide and meet life's setbacks and disappointments with an improved attitude.  Learn to embrace life with joy, ease, and calm.

After 30 days, you will not only be bikini-ready but prepared to take on life with a renewed sense of vigor and excitement.  You will eat better, move more, lose weight, and enjoy life.  Eating the Brazilian way will put you in tune with your body as well as with the environment; living and eating responsibly will have a minimum impact on global resources and maximum impact on your health and well-being.  Staying fit to enjoy yourself as well as to look good will become second nature.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

This guide to eating and exercising the Brazilian way will appeal to those who want an approach to fitness that doesn't lack for flavor. Writer and fitness pro Joseph devotes the brunt of her text to chapters on eating ("Come!") and moving ("Se Mexe!"). "Come!" includes a wide range of Brazilian recipes that emphasize fresh tropical produce, legumes and spices, but doesn't skimp on meat, seafood or dessert; unfortunately, it may take some work to track down Brazilian "superfoods" like frozen acai pulp and yuccas. After a short consideration of "Brazilians and Body Image" ("Brazilians are obsessed with the bunda"), Joseph provides introductory lessons to the dancing martial art of Capoeira, which emphasizes constant, fluid movement; and Pilates, a "body-mind-spirit" exercise that focuses on controlled movement, core strength, concentration and breathing. She includes meal and workout plans, as well as tips for beginners and the injured; appendices include a weekly food-prep calendar and shopping lists. Though 30 days with Joseph's plan may not produce results like those in the cover photograph, enterprising dieters will find this a detailed, well-seasoned plan for getting in shape.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unconvincing..., June 21, 2008
By

This review is from: The Brazilian Bikini Body Program: 30 Days to a Sexier Body and Mind (Hardcover)
Pretty much the whole thing is just raving about about how wonderful and exotic the Brazilian lifestyle and culture is.

I suppose the diet would work if you followed it and the recipes are interesting and tasty sounding. I'm going to try a few of those. But the workouts are silly and I don't believe you could really change your body by following them.

I think if you're new to exercise, you'll have trouble following them correctly and if you're someone who is already active, these won't do anything for you and challenge you. This is my opinion as a fitness professional who guides people who are new to exercise through some of the simplest movements on a day-to-day basis. It is an informed opinion.

I found the book really fluffy and disappointing.

Want a brazilian bikini body? Follow the diet and incorporate some barbell squats into your routine. That'll do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars good book but need more, August 4, 2007
By
This review is from: The Brazilian Bikini Body Program: 30 Days to a Sexier Body and Mind (Hardcover)
I bought this book like many others because I was desperate to get in shape for the summer. I think that it had many interesting recipes--especially the automatic pilot drink made with acai berry--but unless you are a true brazilian, I don't know if you would like to have that diet every day. I do drink the automatic pilot everyday, however, because I like the taste and because it gives me a burst of energy. Therefore, I could tell that the diet would probably work, but I did not follow it except for that one change in my diet. There are too many places to eat out in the world and the diet has to be more forgiving--at least for me. Also, I am very fascinated by Capoiera, but for me, I need a visual. I gave up on trying to learn the movements from a book and I live in a place where there are no classes.

The best thing that I could tell the author, and all people who have diet and exercise books, is that we live in a multimedia society. It does not seem to be so difficult to package the book with a dvd demonstrating the exercises or even a music cd with the music that the book references. Maybe I need to work at a publishing company, because I think that cross promotion and multi media books are the wave of the future. How many "product placements" do we see in movies. Think about it, the tourist industry in Brazil could place a promotional cd in the book as well, touting all the fun of traveling to the country, deomonstrating the food and culture and then the author and the publisher could get richer and everyone would be happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars DON'T judge this book by its cover!, March 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Brazilian Bikini Body Program: 30 Days to a Sexier Body and Mind (Hardcover)
Let me state that again: It will be a mistake if you (negatively) judge this book (like I almost did) by its cover... because it is really a great find for someone like me who wanted some good pics of Pilates moves and some explanation of them... it definitely provides that. I'm taking a Pilates class at my local YMCA but I wanted to have another resource for it, and this was a HUGE bargain! In addition to the Pilates/core-strengthening excercises and workouts, it also has some interesting healthy recipes (though I haven't tried any yet.) I'm very happy with this book!
