5.0 out of 5 stars Great Belt, May 27, 2010

For a belt that isn't rated as heavy duty, these belts are about as heavy duty as you can find! I ordered this as a sample to check out, but I am so impressed with it, I think I am going to switch over to Piranha Gear Belts for my students. These are very good looking and perfectly functional belts for the mats.

I ordered two of these belts to train with, and I am very satisfied with the product. The price is very low for a highly durable belt, I wouldn't buy any other kind. It takes a little breaking in but these belts are not as stiff as many others I've tried new. Highly recommended product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Piranha Gear Belt, April 15, 2011

Fantastic Quality, actually the first belt that will stay tied for an entire training session. Can't beat it for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent quality, March 24, 2011

I hold a blackbelt in Taekwondo and have trained in various other martial arts over the years. I recently started Jiujitsu in order to expand my knowledge base and bought an Adidas Gi, only to find out it didn't come with a belt.

The Pirhana gear belt was the cheapest available and had good reviews so I went for it. The main problem with new belts is that they are stiff as all hell, which makes tying them a pain in butt, and keeping them tied during any martial arts training becomes a bind. I have to say, the pirhana gear belt was stiff enough for me to believe it was brand new, but still supple enough to stay tied most of the time (frankly, even the most worn in belt will come undone a few times during a heavy session).

I will be sticking with these guys for the rest of my training. it's nice to know I won't have nearly the annoyance of breaking ni a new belt again.

I started about a month ago and the belt feels great compared to the default shipped with it. It's tough, thick and of great quality. With any luck I'll be ordering my blue belt here too.

Ship time and seller communication were excellent. I roll gi a bunch and am very pleased with the belt. It is moderately thick, stitching is more than adequate, and the price is right.

I am an amateur MMA fighter and although I am not in the gi when I fight, most of my jiu jitsu training is done in the gi. My previous belt had gotten too soft and started to fray on the ends...I replaced it with this one from Pirahna Gear, and I must say, I am impressed! It isn't too soft or too stiff, it stays tied which is awesome because I train HARD! This belt is an excellent quality and really affordable. I will absolutely be making purchases through Pirahna in the future...I'm always wearing my gear out so I'm sure I'll be making another order soon. :-)

I just started and my school ran out of white belts.

I found this and ordered it, it shipped right away and arrived promptly.

The belt is thicker and harder as far as Gis and belts go the softer, skinnier, and more comfortable the belt or lapel is, the softer, easier, and more comfortable that belt and lapel will be for your opponent to grab and hold onto.

larger harder belts and hard rubber filled collars are advantageous as well as cleaner.

Got back into Gracie Jiu Jitsu and needed a new belt. I've found that a lot of belts are either too thick or too thin. This belt was just right. At first it was a bit too stiff but it broke in perfectly.

I use my belt a lot as a grip point during rolling for reversals and positioning. I found that a lot of belts come loose not matter how tight you tie them. This one has stayed on for most of my rolling sessions even the really long ones. Quality is good, made of good material the stitching is tight and well done. This should last me till my next belt at which point I'll probably end up with another one of the Piranha belts.

If you're looking for a long lasting well made belt at a reasonable price. This one is the one for you.

I purchased through Amazon.com and received my product well before the expected ship date. All lines of communication were open between business and customer. I will definitely be purchasing from Piranha gear again in the near future.
