I just received my walking stick from Brazos. It is a wonderful piece of work. It has a great "feel" to it. Mine is made out of hickory. It will last forever and just get better as it gets older. A walking stick gives me a feeling of protection as I walk. I can defend myself against 2 and 4 legged annoyances and if I were to twist my ankle, I would not be helpless. If I could, I'd give this product ten stars.

This is a beauty! My kids laughed at me when I opened its container, but I explained the need and use for a quality hiking staff. This hickory staff is beautifully handcrafted and somewhat heavy. It has style and with a bit of practice is a solid self-defense tool! I love mine. The next time we have to hike up a hill or down a steep side, the staff will assist me . . . we will see if the kids are laughing! :-)

After searching online a long time for a "natural" walking stick I finally found the Brazo's line. I received the twisted Hickory for Christmas and couldn't be more pleased. It feels great in your hand and provides nice support without that "techy" look you might get from metal poles. The finish is smooth and feels great in your hand. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a bit of support and protection while enjoying nature.

Words aren't adequate to describe the customer service at Brazos. I ordered this stick, and, upon receiving it, decided that it was a bit heavy for me. A quick call to the manufacturer solved everything - they custom made a new stick to my specifications. I am so pleased and tickled to discover a company who extends themselves above and beyond! The stick is higher quality than I expected for this extremely reasonable price, as well. Great finish, VERY solid stick. It will be with me on my daily hikes from now on.

This is a very high quality walking stick and I highly recommend. Make sure you measure and remeasure your size again. I measured approx. 4-5 times to make sure I ordered a comfortable size. I am 5' 9" and per websites on walking sticks (a level elbow while holding the stick) I should order a 55" for $46.00. When it arrived, I felt is was a little long and measured it and they sent me a 58". I thought I ordered the wrong size but checked my order and based on the price charged ($46) they should have sent me a 55". Now my elbow is higher then what is considered comfortable for using a walking stock. Not sure if I will use it and do not want the hassle of sending it back.

Pros:
Extremely sturdy/solid and should last for years.
Good defense tool and someone should think twice before attacking someone using this stick.
Very fast delivery (received on 7th day after placing order)
Impressive and great look....stylish (for a walking stick).

Cons:
It is heavy, as hickory is a heavy wood so not surprised but beware (my forearm will get a workout)
Poor packing. Chipped handle (top of handle). I will provide feedback under seller feedback section -- Recommend to company to use cardboard around ends for protection.

I recommend product but am disappointed with what and how the stick was sent.

I purchased this walking stick for my dad because he has some balance problems after a major surgery. I thought he would feel more comfortable using this attractive walking stick rather than a cane. He has used it quite a bit and was even asked in the airport where he got that hand-carved walking stick; the guy who asked is a woodcarver. Pretty great! And quality!

We bought this for a Christmas present for our dad. It came quickly and w/o hassle. He loves it. We haven't tested it in the woods but have used it outside around the house. It really had the WOW factor.

A beautifully made walking stick. I have received lots of positive comments about the craftsmanship.

My stepfather loved it when I first gave it to him but a month later I noticed a very large bow to it. It is still attractive but a bit awkward to use. It was stored indoors so I do not think it was the humidity.
This would be any easy 5-star if it didn't bow.

Nice walking stick- I've looked at many before buying this one- it's the right weight, smooth finish- perfect for hiking the hills.
