I actually feel stupid for watching this. Be smarter than me...don't! If you wanna' see people getting picked off with clever, funny kills and some funny set-ups and lines then you shouldn't turn too far from mainstream. I'd aim for Sorority Row, the Scream series (Scream 4), Tucker and Dale vs Evil or Final Destination 5.

All right, full disclosure: I knew nothing about this flick before watching suffering through it. No preview, no good plot summary, just a random suggestion by Netflix for a lover of "Violent Slasher Movies." The opening credits were thoughtfully and artistically executed in a Hansel and Gretel fairy tale storybook style. This is nice. It shows us that the filmmakers actually cared about this movie. The film quality smacks of mediocrity, which I'm willing to let slide for a bit, and the acting and dialogue are painfully subpar as I suppose you'd expect from a tolerable-quality straight-to-DVD slasher. But this was less than tolerable.

This flick follows a van of 20- or 30-somethings to an over-sized backwoods cabin for an adult film shoot. [Way to force the gratuitous nudity.] But hold on. Strippers vs Zombies pulled the same ploy, and that was funny! Sad how the present filmmakers failed to likewise capitalize. The crew includes a douche bag, a nerdy geek, an insecure chick, a catty bitch, a nice guy, a high strung chick...you know, a lot of personality types nuanced by minimal acting talent and some very, very poor attempts at humor. It's all pretty tacky.

The odd placement of stuffed animals, some random singing in the forest by a redneck orphan, and a teen-hillbilly peeping-Tom serve as poorly-placed harbingers of the weird and murderous things to come. The hillbilly kids are meant to be off-putting--they're not.

The movie starts out with a girl tied up (vertically). There is a pan frying oil. She screams as she is being tormented with a cake spatula! She wears a deputy star on her waist which then goes into the oil. More screams! The opening credits give us a Hansel and Gretel theme background. A porno film crew is traveling along the road. They make a quick rest stop in the woods and meet a weird couple.

They make it to a cabin where they party the night. Angie (Marianne Hagan) is trying to stop smoking and drinking. This will be her last film. By 80's slasher film standards she should be the lone survivor. Sexy Zoe Sloane plays Skylar, our first nude porn star. The crew is spied upon and visited by 2 young adults who are extremely creepy. Mike Nichols is the director, producer, co-writer, editor, and he plays Eddie. Two of the producers also starred in the movie. One funny moment was when the new kid was trying to learn his lines as a pizza delivery boy in a porno film.

The kids who kill and torture the group have somehow been influenced by Hansel and Gretel. They believe the house the crew are in is evil and the people are evil.
I watched the "R" rated version on a 4-pack called "Backwoods Butchers" in the Walmart $5.00 bin.

Good Old Fashion 80's style film. Sex, nudity, blood.

It was worse than horrible. It doesn't deserve even one star. Run away and don't drop any crumbs to find your way back to it!

I turned it off after just 5 minutes, it was intolerable to watch. Glad it was free on Amazon prime or I'd feel ripped off.

It was the "same old" storyline. Very boring. I would NOT recommend it to anyone. The previews were the reason I rented it.

I really did. If you dont enjoy micro budgeted Horror dont watch. I found it entertaining enough and the acting wasnt all that bad. Only negatives for me were the adults playing what I assume are supposed to be teens were too old and some of the characters are annoying but get killed horribly so it balances out :-) Gore, simulated sex, nudity and plenty of victims. What else do u expect in a no budget Horror movie?
