TRUE ORGANIC,
By
This review is from: Bread From Stones: A New And Rational System Of Land Fertilization And Physical Regeneration (1894) (Hardcover)
Fantastic book. Outlines the necessary elements for healtful farming. By replacing trace elements through new soil instead of harmful fertilizers, you will have food that has the needed properties, rich in all that is necessary for true health. Fruits and vegetables will be the most tasty and pest resistant you have ever had. I have seen this first hand in mine, by employing these methods. It absolutely works!

Good book, very unhelpful foreword.,
This review is from: Bread from Stones (An Acres U.S.A. classic) (Paperback)
Bread From Stones is a reprinted translation of an old classic about the use of minerals to fertilize soil. The practice of spreading minerals on soil is all but forgotten, so it's fantastic that this book is available once again. The ideas presented in it are true gems, and are a must read for anyone concerned about the state of the global food supply, the environment, and soil science and agriculture in general.However... Charles Walters Jr, author of the foreword, seems to have completely missed the point in terms of understanding climate change. He is a proponent of the long discredited global cooling theory, and despite still advocating for mineral fertilization to reverse the effects of climate change, he introduces the book with the notion that we need to increase the amount of atmospheric carbon to avoid creating another ice age. The core of the book is definitely recommended, but I highly advise picking another version, without this particular nonsensical and outdated introduction. Try ISBN 1151415383, it was printed in 2009, as opposed to this one which was 1991. |
