5.0 out of 5 stars Almost an "Automatic Pizza Maker" ! WOW!
I used a Gift Certificate to buy this. I was amazed at how quickly it arrived, and how large it was.

It is made of cast metal, so heats and holds the heat VERY well. The interior is Silverstone. Completely non-stick, and no cleanup. Nothing EVER "burns on".

I used a Gift Certificate to buy this. I was amazed at how quickly it arrived, and how large it was.

It is made of cast metal, so heats and holds the heat VERY well. The interior is Silverstone. Completely non-stick, and no cleanup. Nothing EVER "burns on".

When it arrived I started a bread dough in my bread machine before I even opened it. I unpacked it, read the instructed, and prepared the inside. When the dough was ready I pressed it out, added a bottled sauce, cheese and toppings.

15 minutes later I had a fabulous pizza! A deep crust that cooked perfectly and crisply, with NO darker spots. I was afraid that my very thick crust would not be cooked all the way through-it was! The crust was so crisp. I LOVE that. I hate soggey crust, as so often happens with "delivery pizza".

My only disapointment was that I did not understand that there is no heating element in the top. It only cooks from the bottom. They tell you to put on the cheese first, then the sauce, then the toppings. This seems strange to me.

We like a lot of onion, pepper, mushroom, etc. on top, and I found the top a little "soupy" to my taste. It is, however, very easy to lift out the whole pizza and pop it under the broiler for a short browning time. I just feel that shouldn't be necessary. They should have put a heating element in the top also. Poor design!

I was also disapointed in the recipe pamphlet (it certainly isn't a book!), but hundreds of excellent pizza etc. recipes are available on so many websites, so this isn't really a big problem.

That said, I do LOVE my pizza oven. I can make a wonderful, tasty meal, with healthy ingredients, and unbelievably quickly. EVERYONE loves pizza, so you are never at a loss to feed unexpected company. The ingredients are staples in my kitchen. Using whole wheat bread flour, reduced fat cheese, and olive oil doesn't make it health food, but certainly is an improvement over "delivery".

I use it very often. You will too. With a bread machine it is almost like having an automatic pizza maker! It could NOT be easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Love This Contaption!!!, August 1, 2002
By A Customer

This pizza maker is really an excellent product, a real essential for any pizza lovers out there. The best pizzas I have ever tasted were the result of this wonder-gadget.

The Crust:
The pizza crusts always come out thick and perfect: slightly cripsy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside and far surpasses the pizza stones in the quality of the crust.

The Quantity Made:
The pizza comes out about 1 1/2 inches thick and generally makes enough to feed 8 people. I have not tried to bake a frozen pizza in the oven, so am not aware of its capabilities in that area, but from a home-made pizza standpoint this is the best gadget you can get.

The Recipe Pamphlet:
The recipe pamphlet included with the pizza maker gives a choice of two dough recipes as well as for a multitude of different pizzas, all of which are excellent and give a good basis for experimentation.

Some tips for the buyer:
Put any veggies containing a lot of water (such as green peppers) on the pizza 5 minutes before the pizza is finished instead of at the beginning. The veggies will come out warm and crunchy and do not waterlog the crust. Remember that 20 minutes is the cooking time, not the making time. Leave about 1 1/2 hours for total preparation.

5.0 out of 5 stars great appliance-pays for itself many times over, September 4, 2006
This review is from: Breadman PZ200 Pizza Oven (Kitchen)
If you can make the dough, this bakes perfect pizza every time with no guess work involved. I have used it for about 4 years and make pizza about 2 times a month. so that is about 26 times per year multiplied by 4 = 104 times. Multiply that by $15 per pizza you have to pay in a pizzeria and thats the money I saved by using this! You do have to make the dough or buy the dough though. I make mine with a lot of whole wheat flour and not much oil, so its very healthy too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pizza Maker!, August 3, 2006
This review is from: Breadman PZ200 Pizza Oven (Kitchen)
I purchased this pizza maker several years ago from QVC as a Cook's Essentials product. It makes geat pizza from fresh dough. Recently I have used it for frozen self rising pizza to keep kitchen temperatures down during the hot summer months. Wow! It really does a great job, nothing sticks and cleanup is very easy. I was surprised to see this product still available.I highly recommend this product.

I've use this pizza oven a couple of times now and am very pleased with how it works. It doesn't have a heating element in the top and, since I like my pizza soft and chewy, the pie does have some moisture that collects in the center 'cause I don't want to cook it long enough to evaporate it. While I'll probably use the oven stone in the winter, this thing is great for not heating up the house for the summer-time pizza munchies.

This is the greatest pizza oven. I make my own dough and then put together delicious deep dish combinations. The dough is perfectly cooked and cleanup is a breeze. I wish they still made them; it is a great item to own and a great gift.
