4.0 out of 5 stars Great Machine
This is my first bread machine and so far I am not dissapointed! I made the best pumpernickel bread ever following the simple directions. It is beautiful in stainless steel and is not an eye sore on the counter.

2.0 out of 5 stars Breadman 900S
I have owned this breadman for one year. I make between one and two loafs of bread per week. Mostly whole wheat bread. I purchased the 900S because my previous machine was a breadman and it performed well (8 years).

It makes a good loaf of bread.
Good selection of cycles.

This is my first bread machine and so far I am not dissapointed! I made the best pumpernickel bread ever following the simple directions. It is beautiful in stainless steel and is not an eye sore on the counter.
the drawbacks-I find this machine a bit noisy and the so called "see through" window is really not see through. The "cradle for the baking pan can be a little troublesome. Once a timer has been started it cannot be changed, for instance, you'd have to clear it and start over. It does however, let you know when each cycle has been completed.
Other that that, it lets you know when to add ingredients and when its over. It has an hour extended warmer so your bread stays warm. You can delay the timer for those nights when you pull yourself together and mix the ingredients for fresh bread in the morning.
I still can't believe that I can put the ingredients in and walk away and comeback to yummy hot bread.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bread machine, March 14, 2006
I hadn't had a bread machine in many years and remember the quirky nature of my old machine. Bread machines have come a long way, and this Breadman is an excellent choice. I have seen a couple reviews in which it was stated that the machine didn't mix the dough well enough. I found that some of the recipes that came with the machine didn't seem to me to contain enough liquid. That may be the problem. But the instructions for this machine, as with all machines, state that you do need to check your dough at the beep and make sure it is the right texture and that it is well mixed. Flours can vary a lot throughout the seasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Bread at a Great Price, January 3, 2006
I just got the BreadMan PRO TR-900S, and have made several loaves so far. The machine is very well built, easy to clean, and the bread comes out better than that from the local bakery. I have not even used half of the functions yet, but I am looking forward to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars REALLY Great Machine, March 15, 2006

I have to agree with all the other reviews - this is really an amazing bread machine. Not one loaf has turned out badly (I've made 3 so far - whole grain, whole wheat cinnamon raisin walnut, and honey granola) and I've never seen a bread machine beat the dough into submission like this one! It also incorporates nuts & raisins flawlessy - you add them at the first series of beeps, and even though the machine is in the first knead cycle and flings the stuff all over, it stops, rotates, and picks up and incorporates every last bit. The recipes that come with the bread machine are excellent - I have also made wonderful pizza dough and poundcake, all recipes that came with it. I would also recommend the Breadman's Healthy Bread book if you are looking to make healthful, completely whole grain breads, which this machine handles wonderfully. Do not hesitate to buy this one!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have owned this breadman for one year. I make between one and two loafs of bread per week. Mostly whole wheat bread. I purchased the 900S because my previous machine was a breadman and it performed well (8 years).
Pros:
It makes a good loaf of bread.
Good selection of cycles.
Loaf is easy to extract from the pan.

Cons:
The motor is not very powerful. It lugs down when making whole wheat bread.
After 7 months of operation the Teflon wore off the mixing paddle.
At 11 months the bearing failed in the mixing pan.

Overall I am disappointed in this bread machine and I could not recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bread - great machine, September 25, 2005

I received this bread machine and within the first week have made three loaves of bread. The first one was from a package and I believe the yeast was old, because it did not rise properly. The second and third loaves were from scratch (from cookbook included with machine,) and to my surprise the bread was the best I have ever baked. I previously owned a Panasonic bread machine, which was a plain machine without all the selections this machine has. We love it!!! and the low cost to make the bread is the best! I make a loaf on Sunday afternoons, so the house smells wonderful before our Christian friends come over for Bible Study.

1.0 out of 5 stars There is something better out there, November 11, 2006

(REAL NAME)
I received the Breadman Pro TF-900S as a gift. After 10 years using a bread machine, it was nice to get a new updated one. I used this one 3 times.

Some negatives:
1) It is loud.
2) It is difficult to tell if the bread pan is properly placed in the machine. It won't mix until you have it in just right and there is no clear way of knowing until it gets going. In 2 out of the first 3 times I tried this machine, I thought it was properly placed and it wasn't. One time, I saw that it was turning properly, then I actually saw it pop out of place. The result was wasted ingredients both times.
3) Some of the dough sticks to the sides. The instruction book says this might happen and to take a soft spatula and push it down. If I'm going to use a bread machine, I should NOT have to check to make sure the dough is all mixed.

On the positive side:
1) I did get one good loaf of cinnamon raisin bread. I will say that the raisins were very well mixed throughout the bread and not clumped on the bottom.
2) The pan is easy to clean.
3) There are a lot of recipes to try in the instruction booklet.

Needless to say, the hassle of double checking the machine is not worth it to me. It is now packed up and ready for return.

1.0 out of 5 stars Expensive baking pan, January 24, 2006
Not sure how other people have been able to make a real loaf of bread with this, but I certainly could not. I made three attempts, all failures for various reasons. Either it did not mix, or the dough was so hard it knocked the pan off its base, or it created pebbles of dough. It definitely can not be left unattended, which defeats the purpose of delay start. It bakes OK though, but you better do all the upfront work yourself. PS. I was using the recipes that come with the maker.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Bread Maker!, January 23, 2006

Very good product! The manual is easy to understand and has countless recipies for every kind of bread, dinner roll, pizza dough and what ever else might interest you. It has all the dough courses listed right on the lid so all you have to do is follow the recipe in the manual, enter the course number, select the size of the loaf and darkness, turn it on and forget about it. It's so easy that anyone can do it! The breads and pizza doughs have all been delicious. (I haven't tried any of the jam courses.) My only complaint is that there should be some sort of removable crumb tray under the cooking compartment for easy cleaning. Highly recommended product.
