While somewhat dated, this book still contains very valuable information and strategies that are hard to find information about.
It was one of the first books to offer a system to counteract the ways the cards are shuffled and "washed." Includes table selection methods and suggestions players can use to CREATE a favorable game. My favorite sections are the chapters on "Casino Tips and Strategies" and "Money Management." Highly recommended.

This review is from: Break the dealer: winning strategies for today's blackjack (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a classic book that describes biases that occur in Blackjack (BJ) tables leading to either players winning or losing titled "Break The Dealer" by the legendary BJ player & author Jerry L. Patterson. He was the first BJ expert to have noted the ineffectiveness of "Card Counting" once casinos introduced changes/countermeasures to the BJ games [After a wide acknowledgement by BJ experts & "Casino Establishments" that concepts described by an earlier classical book "Beat The Dealer", were very effective against the then prevalent BJ games (single & double deck games)!]. He identified "winning factors" that point to tables were players are likely to win. These "winning factors" as known as TARGET (TAble, Research, Grading & Evaluation Technique) factors that are used for table selection : table entry (when present = player-biased tables or dealer-breaking tables) & departure (when absent = casino-biased tables). But the book contains much more valuable information than TARGET factors including money management & other casino tips! The book is a classic & old but still very relevant today in the era of predominately Multiple-Deck Games & Shuffling Machines. A recommended reading by legendary author, Jerry L. Patterson who has been teaching his students BJ (Jerry Patterson Blackjack Clinic) since 1977.
