5.0 out of 5 stars Reading Greens high tech, May 4, 2011

Always pass by the hole above or below the hole? I have had problems reading greens. The Breakmaster is giving me new insight. Ever watch a putt do something unexpected. Well now I go back after I hole the putt and find that there was break along some part of the putt line I didn't see. I am also finding after a few weeks with it I see more when I walk up to a green. I now actually "See" a ridge in one green on a course I play regularly that I had not noticed before.
The instructions are fabulous as they tell you how to print out actual pictures of the greens(and fairways) using Google Earth. It was well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best way to improve, June 24, 2011
This review is from: BreakMaster Digital Green Reader (Sports)
Learning how to read greens well is a very difficult thing to master. I have seen thousands of people that have great putting strokes, but yet they don't make any 30 footers... the Breakmaster will help you with this. It is great at training your eye how to read minor changes in break, and eventually you will have sooo much confidence. I use it before I go out on the course to make sure that my eye is "calibrated." It is also perfect for mapping out greens for yardage books.

The product is also well made... I would recommend it to anyone... especially if you are getting bored working on your putting stroke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique method of improving your putting, May 30, 2008

Used by many Tour Professionals and caddies to map out the greens, this device is one of the industry's best kept secrets.

In a compact size, with a leatherette carrying case, this tool reveals to the user a newer approach to putting. Simply place the device on the line of your putt to determine the break. It is accompanied with a user's manual and DVD to help you improve your game.

This device quantifies the slope of the green in 8 directions and from 0 to 9.9 degrees. You will be surprised how much compensation that you need for 1 degree of break versus 3 degrees at a distance of 6 feet. One of the most interesting concepts that the company recommends is to map out the greens with this device (as the tour caddies do) - This is something that even Stan Utley of the Art of Putting illustrates in his book.

Battery life is excellent. This device's battery has lasted me for over 1.5 years without replacing it.

This device is not for someone who does not have a consistent stroke. It won't putt for you. It won't teach you distance control. It will teach you how to read a green more effectively and make the most informed decision to stroke the putt.
