this cd is a fast-paced thrill ride through contemporary american drum & bass. he starts the album out with a frenzied fast stepping pace and then moves into dirtier more familiar territory by track 4's "vertical drop" (decoder remix) which seems incorgruent sandwiched between tracks 3 and 5's tech-step pacing but acheives the desired effect well. by track 6's "together" things get really nasty as rolling basslines and female vocals echo in and out of the background leaving one to ponder just how much more "hardcore" it can get. when we hit track 9's "social skills" we are brought into lush auditory bliss with the unfamiliar sound of future-step. the cd then climbs higher and higher until by track 13's "identity" the cd reaches its climax and then is brought back down by two following tracks of laid-back jungle. incredible amount of variety and value on this one... definately recommended.

Another mix Cd by the Ireland born Dj Dara. THis time he focuses on the U.S. drum & bass scene more than the Ever popular U.K. scene. All the Tracks on here are done by U.S. producers, (Aside from the Total Science remix of JL's "Dust") The Cd Rolls from the opening tune to the closing tune. I especially like the Kaos + Karl K tune "Street Knowledge", which uses the Dr.Dre sample from the old NWA days. Trust me, If you like drum and Bass, you will love Dara's Style and Tune Selection. Features a variety of styles, not one of those albums where it sounds like we're listening to the exact same track.
Lots of hard sounds, but a few more mellow tracks as well.
Some melody, and lots of crazy beats!
Probably Dara's best work.

A most refreshing mix. i went to the store cause i needed something new to add to my library, something with more punch than goldie, but not quite as energetic as straight up jungle. this particular installment of the breakbeat science series is different from the rest...it follows more of almost a jungle/techstep sound. it's not too heavy, but if your looking for some strong breaks, they're all right here. a must have for the all-around dn'b fan, and a great introduction to those new to the genre!

I love all of Dara's CD's and just what he spins whenever in general, so.....yah, BSX.01 is my favorite by him at the moment. The first track sets the tone with some extroardinary drum beat sequences, and a great breakdown in the middle of the song. It's quick paced fury with an underlying peacefulness throughout the whole album. Oracle is a great track too. Hypnotising music. I love Dust too.

Major props to DJ Dara. You are the best.

What a good price for a really good mix and representation of the Drum and Bass style. DJ Dara knows what's up. I recommend this album to people just starting out in this genre, but experienced aficionados may want to get this album also. I took off one star because it is a bit repetitive at times, but if you like this style you probably won't mind. Press play and soar!

Well, I had to buy this for a second time, my CD broke and I couldn't stand living without it anymore =P. It really is some of Dara's best! He started this line of CD's breakbeat science :Exercise 1...etc. I also just bought the 5th one mixed by Clever, and it's a little different than I usually listen to but wow what a smooth mix! As for the Dara, there isn't much else to say. He's just awesome! BUY THE CD AND START YOUR COLLECTION!!!

Dara's work on BBS:E1 has a good variety of songs ranging from hardcore drum n' bass tracks and blends well with softer drum n' bass songs. Truly an epic mix!

Being pretty new to this style of music, this is what I have to say. This is a really tight mix cd done by someone who is fast becoming one of my favorite dnb artists. It's a seamless mix of great dnb tracks that includes some of the only female vocals I've actually ENJOYED hearing in this music, really interesting stuff. If you like dnb, you can't go wrong here, especially for price, it's a steal for the quality you're getting.

Dara has always been one of my favorite DnB DJ's of all time. Once again, he hits us with an onslaught of great American Drum and Bass tunes. Right off the bat, he starts off with a deep roller from a guy named ICR. ICR also appears on track number 5. Both of these tunes are the highlights of the mix, but you can be sure that the rest is pounding bass and tight breaks. Dara moves through a Drum and Bass spectrum with songs from DJ Abstract, G13, and Dune, just to name a few. This CD has been in my car stereo for about 72 hours and I can't wait to hear it again. Dara.....Keep em' comin'.
