Surprisingly awesome,

I bought the album for 2 reasons.
1: I bought Dj DB's:The secret art of science and liked it. 2: The album art and cover looked really cool. Well this album is more than just a pretty face. It's a real rock solid album. I really like the range of sounds that are explored in this album. DB and Stakkas tracks are some of the really high points of the album (especially the last track). I was really surprised how different this was from the other DJ DB album I own. Don't get me wrong The Secret art of Science is great, it's just that after a while a majority of the tracks seem like they are just filler. With this album each track has it's own unique sound and vibe that really do an awesome job of creating a "journey" of an album. But what I really dug the most was the album art. I really like the use of color and art style. The CD itself looks awesome. Great looks and killer sound, you really can't do any better!

The DB Sound,
By

DB always has a very distinct sound. He does not stray from that sound on Breakbeat Exercises 4. Opening with a production from Stakka and himself, DB takes us on a journey with deep and chill drum and bass tracks. My personal favorites include DB and Stakka's "Groupies", Stakka's remix of "Liquification", and Peter K's lovely "Saturnine". It's a great cd for listening at home and although these tracks aren't floor-stompers, any drum and bass fan will truley appreciate DB's love for good tunes. Not to mention that this cd has not left my cd player since it came out a week ago. Go buy it!!

My favs: 1,3,6, 7, 10, and 11.
8 and 9 are ok as well, especially after 6 and 7, and before 10 kicks it back up.

Man, this is a really good mix. Very clean sounding drums and breaks. Nice addition to any junglists collection.

I'm a huge Drum n' Bass and DB fan, which compelled me to go out and buy this album. After giving it a few listens it really started to grow on me. This CD was marked at $8.99 at my local FYE store, and with a price like that any Drum n' Bass fan should not pass this offer up. What did bug me about this mix is that there was only 3 tracks by Stakka & DB, who I felt should have made an entire CD of their own.

This is a truly excellent dnb mix by DJ DB. Exercise 004 takes you on a wonderful dnb journey. DB & Stakka's Groupies and Spaghetti along with Pieter K's Saturnine are choice dnb tracks. Highly recommended along with all the other BBS Exercises.

As soon as I found out about this cd, I ran out to get it. Any d'n'b fan would love a DB mix. This is no exception. This album represents a more mature d'n'b sound, as all DB's albums do. It's not your typical d'n'b, and it's a little more chill, compared to most d'n'b. This particular mix is not as easily digestible and takes time to get into but it will definitely grow on you. There are some huge tracks on this mix. The Peter K remixes of 'Contact' and 'Trefusis Point' are far and away the best for me. 'What a Woman' is great, and has a great little organ solo on it. 'Sublime' has a sweet sped up vocal sample and is a little more hype and then '2B' finishes the album very nicely. With the bargain price you can't afford to miss this.
