Also in the mix are fun facts: did you know that the average person consumes about 10 pounds - 160 bowls of cereal per year? or that "Breakfast cereals rank third in the list of grocery store items on which Americans spend their money, behind only carbonated beverages and milk - and ahead of bread, hamburger, and cigarettes?" That "the US cereal industry uses in excess of 800 million pounds of sugar per year, enough to coat every person with more than 3 pounds of sugar?" Or that, if you stick a magnet in any "iron-fortified" cereal, black fuzzy iron will stick to it? The physics of the famous snap, crackle, pop? Accompanying all these mind blowing, teeth-decaying facts are grand, simply grand, photos of cereal boxes and commercials from those Saturday Baby Boomer mornings in front of the TV. I bought this book for my boyfriend who is a writer and really enjoys the 1940's-1980's. There is some great stuff in here, not just images but the back stories on the products and some neat trivia stuff. I recommend it!

Great book with fantastic images of vintage advertising and products... Really brings back some great memories. Great Bargain for the Price Paid.

My boyfriend eats cereal pretty much twice a day and I thought this would be a great gift. We have never actually make anything out of it but there are some interesting recipes.
