2.0 out of 5 stars Entire CD is wonderful!
Every song on here is good. Too bad the group didn't last cause they were pretty cool. It's a good CD to exercise to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice overlooked late 80s pop album., July 1, 2007
This review is from: Breakfast Club (Audio CD)
I faintly remember the hilarious video for "Right On Track" getting played on Mtv back in '87 when I was a kid. Recently the video appeared on VH1 classic and I decided to find a copy of the album and give it a chance. I really like the dance-pop/electric funk sound of this album. Very well produced. I really love what Steven Bray did with this album and Madona's 'True Blue' as well. A solid album all the way through, I usually skip "Expressway to your heart", but every other track is gold! They also did a song for the movie "License To Drive".
If you like dance pop with catchy synth melodies, you should give this album a chance. Also check out "Johnny Hates Jazz", and "The Blue Nile" for more great late 80s tunes.

5.0 out of 5 stars What happened to these guys???, May 20, 2007

I can remember hearing "Kiss and Tell" at a club back in 86 and fell in love with the entire album...they showed SO much promise - as musicians, as lyricists. To this day, this album has always been one of my favorite of the 80s music and i listen to it often as it is really fun to work out to!!! If any of the members read this - PLEASE - start a myspace and let us know what you're doing!!! we haven't forgotten you!!!!!

just like the best breakfast ever, you will absolutely love this album. It came out in the 80's but I discovered it in the mark down bend some years later. I have 2 copies of this album on cassette tape and have bought copies for several of my family members and friends..yes it's that good!!! Breakfast Club was a backup band for Madonna when she first started and sorry to say these guys were not recieved by the listening audience like they should have been. They have not to this day recorded another album. If you like music for the pure listening pleasure, you will love this CD. Enjoy your Breakfast, Club that is!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Standing the test of time!, April 19, 2011

Yes indeed this is one of the great CD's to come out of the 80's. I had the Album when it first came out. And everytime I hear the song "Right On Track" makes me crave the rest of the CD!
It's great to know that this album stood the test of time and just last night heard "Right On Track" while having dinner at Joe's Crab Shack! Too bad they only made one album - but maybe that's why this one is so great!

I was happy to finally find this CD. I was in the 9th grade when I first heard their song "Right On Track" playing on one of our local radio stations. When the DJ said their name, I was like, this band calls themselves Breakfast Club? Did they get their name from the movie, "The Breakfast Club"? Makes logical sense. I'm not sure about that, though it sounds "right on", pardon the pun. Anyway, I also liked their second song "Never Be The Same". Hearing these songs takes me back for sure to my high school days. I agree with one reviewer about the music being great to exercise to. Many of these tracks are pure dance songs. I liked just about all the songs on this CD. My favorite's are: "Never Be The Same"(Second favorite), "Right On Track"(My most favorite), "Expressway To Your Heart"(I really enjoyed the honking horns in the background), "Specialty", "Kiss And Tell", and "Tongue Tied". It's a shame these guys didn't make more music together.

If you enjoyed the 80's music, this is a good CD to add to your collection of that era.
