This music is just great.....

first it is Jerry Goldsmith and that in and of itself makes it worth the price....but...

If you liked the "driving.....steam enginesque"....music of the film then you'll love this...... If you saw the beginning titles for the BBC Poirot starring David Suchet of Murder on the Orient Express and how the music matched perfectly the pistons of the Orient Express driving wheels...then this is of the same high caliber...

For those of a "classical" bent.....theme and variation.....but with the "drive" of a movie soundtrack...

the film is famous with "in crowds" because it has the longest fight scene on top of a train that is actually moving, and.....with no dialogue..... the music for it is here....

It isn't a really LONG album.......but in this case......quality more than makes up for quantity.....

I've got a VHS that I taped from t.v. and a pirated VHS and music that I taped off those that I put on a cd....then I got the lp album....and made a cd off it.... now this...

The music is crisp and clear, no muddieness.... and, as far as I can discern, "all" of the music is there....

When you hear the end track you see Bronson standing in the snow and the "lines" going across the film as they start the end credits...

When you hear the opening music, you can't help but think of the driving pistons of the steam train engine which is the backdrop for the whole film....

more than worth the money and then some........

I purchased the original motion picture soundtrack to "Breakheart Pass" by Jerry Goldsmith because I had the movie on DVD and I liked the soundtrack. Anyone who is familiar with Jerry Goldsmith knows he is an accomplished composer. I highly recommend this CD.

I like the CD. Its a good western classical music theme. I also like the DVD. It's one of my favorite Charles Bronson movies.
