40 Water came wit it on this album just like you thought he would, but still he never gets the credit he deseves. Breaking news came with that heat and E-40 let you know why he's the KING of the YAY. Haters gonna hate but this is not a dissappointment, pleasebelieveit! The game ain't about who's hot for right now but the longevity, and 40 been doin it for years! Breaking News is must have. A Bay Area collectors item. "E-40 for president"

the words "almost famous" would best describe e-40, the chunnky 4-eyed rapper. for the past 10 years he has been putting out record after record, solo and with his clique the click (no pun intended) to generate little sales. well that was then. recently, vallejo, california's big baller has hit us with his ninth album "breaking news". the difference: it will go platinum. "why?" you might ask. just listen to it! this is the hottest 40-water material i've heard since '96's "hall of game". back with the clique, and a few dirty south guests, earl stevens uses his expected off the wall slang to spit to the hood. the title track starts off the album with a hot keyboard induced beat and a reggae singer to get the party started. the next track, "hot" hits a nice 85* temperature with e using his original lingo. other songs like "got dat work", "married to the ave", "this goes out" and "show and prove" really prove this man's individuality through beats and rhymes and his street credibility. but the 3 best songs on the cd have to be the ultimate club song "anybody can get it", the clipse feature "quarterbackin", and the woman-seducing "one night stand". the only real reason i didn't give this album a 5 is because the last few tracks are pretty lackluster and 40 uses too many guests. but, overall, e-40 impressed me with this album. his lyrics and beats are definately above .500 on this one and i feel that it has potential for a platinum plaque. holding it down for northern califoolya tha mane e-40.

E40 does it again. I dont think this man can do a bad record. It's just that voice and how fast he spits, not to mention the new dictionary he's creating. "Breakin News" is just another classic by the E -- although it's not "Hall of Game Pt 2" that we're waiting for. Still, check out "Married to the Ave" with E making those psychotic siren sounds. Or the optimism of "I Hope You Get This Kite," a song of remembrance to the men behind bars. And E's got a talented young co-rapper named Turf Talk who appears on "I Got Dat Work" and "Gasoline." Then there's "Northern Califoolya" with a list of heavy-hitters guest-spitting, including Keak da Sneak, San Quinn, Messy Marv and the brilliant producer/artist Ea-Ski. The only disappointment is, like on "Grit and Grind", E's bad choice to include a dirty south styled crunk track, "Anybody Can Get It." Sorry, but Lil Jon's screaming does nothing for me. And I dont even know why Bone Crusher still has a career. Other than that, though, it's another gem in E-40's impressive catalog.

This album is just another great accomplishment from E-40 everysong on this album will make you snap your neck. He is the only artist besides OUTKAST of course that I will never download from the internet he deserves to be on the top of everychart. TRL or whatever everyone needs to give E-40 his deserved appreciation for all of his great work over the years everyone needs to recognize E-40 for what he is and that is the best in the industry. much love goes out to E-40 ONE HUNDRED

This is better than the previous Lp. Rick Rock does half of the beats and they are knockin' as usual. All guest hold it down also (Clipse, Bone Crusher, David Banner, B-Legit, E-A Ski, Turf Talk, etc.) This album you can listen straight through without skipping. E-40's lyrics are funny too and keeps you entertained. My favorite cuts- "I Got Dat Work", "Anbody Can Get It", "Act An Ass", and "I Hope YOu Get This Kite".

"Quarterbackin", "Gasoline", and that song with Messy Marv and San Quinn are the best!!!! Get the album and if you have not seen their movie "Obstacles", go rent that as well. E-40 had me laughing on this cd. ....I'm bald headed, but I used to have a lord jesus perm!!! If you have the album, you will remember where that line came from. this cd is strictly for e-40 fans from the beginning like me

2nd best E-40 to date. Grit and Grind is a little better and I would reccemond that along with this and all E-40 albums. He is definently one of the better rappes among todays rap game. Every song on here is good.. Nothing is boring, strait fire every track. Check it out. Don't download it.. Buy 40 and represent!

E-40 does not disapoint. He's the man mack dammit. For those who don't know - this is the man that has INVENTED popin yo colla, for sheezy (popularized by Snoop Dogg), player hatin and countless other hip hop terms. Without gettin any credit! This is the secound albumn of a relativly new trend of rap for 40 Water. His new production team, The Pharmaciticles, are RAW - giving him a more clubbish/current sound thant contends with anything by the Neptunes. Although I liked "Grit & Grind" better than this new one, it's just because I'm a fan of the older 40 albums. I think Grit & Grind is the perfect blend of his old and new sounds. For all you hard core 40 fans, this is something new. There are NO tracks with Too $hort or Ant Banks. And 40 only has ONE song with other YAY AREA rappers, which is star-studded but disapointing "Northern Califoolya"- Messy Marve, San Quinn, EA Ski, Keak Da Sneak & B-Legit. The new sound even has a song with voice samples sounding like a rockafella song. The hottest tracks are the singles, "Gasoline", "One Night Stand", "Quarterbackin", and the new bagger "Anybody can get it" with Lil' Jon, Bone Crusher & David Banner. "This Goes Out", "Married To The Ave" & "Show and Prove" are also great songs. E-40 fans need this, it's worth the cash. If your new to 40, get "Grit & Grind", or his best albumn "Game Related" (by his group The Click.)If you like that get "Loyalty and Betrayal" & "The Hall of Game" for the true 40 experience

Liked it, but was somewhat dissapointed,

I never really got into E-40 that much until recently, over the years, the only time i heard him was when he would do collabos with other artists like Master P, Twiztid, Mack 10, C-bo, Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boyz, and a couple of others.I was expecting more of a West Coast vibe because his duos seem to lean towards more hardcore/gangsta rap, but his new CD was cruddy compared to other occasions that i heard him. It was more mainstream rather than hard, with bubblegum mainstream pop/rap artist Clipse on a track gives me the wrong impression. Songs like "Hot" "Quarterbackin'" and that one song he does with the girl singer make the album seem soft and weak. However, songs like "Breakin' News" "If if Was a Fifth" "Wa La" and that killer crunk song with Lil' Jon, Bone Crusher, and David Banner "Anybody Can Get It", pick up my interests for that album. Plus, E-40's rhymes and the way he raps can never be competed with. If you are a fan of E-40, then yes it is worth buying, but be aware that it isn't his best...you might be a little dissapointed.

E-40 IS OFF THE HOOK ON THIS CD,
A Kid's Review

This is a great Cd I got it just recently. My favorite song on here is Act the A**. If you don't have this Cd what are you waiting for, go and get it. I would rate this CD with ten stars but you can only pick five. I think this is about the best CD he made. Also go ang get Too Short Married to the Game, if you haven't already. E-40 is also on that CD and does a great job, on my favorite aong Shake That Monkey. E-40 is the best bay area singer besides Tupac.
