I got this back in my dancing hay-day, they used to call me Iron Waffle Crisps, because my moves were hot and gritty, keep me away from that cardboard square, because i'll set it straight on fire! There's nothing like hangin on the corner decked out in some Zubaz pants, a members only jacket, and a fresh flock of seagulls cut, break dancin into all the ladies hearts (oh, i did more than just dance into their hearts) and this is the perfect album to do it to. oh? never seen breakin!?! well you better beat feet to your local music store and pick it up! I watched it for 1 week straight at one point in my life, and even had my own dance posse ( The Electric Sizzle Chests) it consisted of me, chubby lou, big frank, cheese grits, and lupus fury. needless to say we ruled the streets, and got all the finest break dancing groupies on the market. Anyways, do yourself a favor, and get Breakin!

Soundtrack to that cheesy, poorly acted but fun movie we all loved back in the 80s (it even featured an unknown Jean-Claude Van Damme as a background dancer).

Filled with hi-octane dance music that enabled people to spin on their backs, heads, and do some poppin' and lockin'. Most of the music was electro/dance with heavy beats and loads of wicked guitar solos, "991/2", "Street people" and "Heart of the beat" being prime examples.

"Breakin'... There's No Stoppin Us" by Ollie & Jerry (who also provide the largely instrumental "Showdown") was a US #9 hit. Other standouts are the Funk/R&B "Freakshow on the dancefloor" by the Bar-kays, and the rock-tinged "Cut it" by Re-flex. Standout to me is the synthesized Pop classic "Ain't nobody" by Rufus featuring Chaka Khan in one of her effortlessly powerful vocal performances.

I used to own this album on cassette and I'm so glad I can finally listen to it on CD and on my iPod.

cardboard....ha! we only use linoleum. cardboard is for suckas! this is a top class movie. i would have never broken into the world of dance if it wasn't for ozone and turbo. but because of them i break it down religiously and win break dance wars. and now i'm poppin' and lockin' fool... step up or step out...

rent it, own it, read the book... take a look... signed... cap'n hook...

What can I say? This is an awesome soundtrack. Some of the best R&B, funk, and even some alternative dance (Kraftwork, anybody?) --- It's a shame the sellers online are being so greedy and asking outrageous sums of money for this compilation disc. You're better off finding each song individually on Amazon, iTunes, or wherever strikes your fancy, and compiling the soundtrack yourself.

It's great music, but it's not worth spending this much on the disc.

OOOH MY GOD THIS IS THE MOVIE THAT IS NOT ONLY INSPIRING YOU TO BE WHAT YOU WANT TO BE BUT IT WAS CLEAN CUT VERY MUSICAL AND THE ACTING , DANCING, AND PERFORMING IN THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT. IT DIDN'T GET MUCH RATING LIKE I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BUT I LOVED IT ESPECIALLY THE SOUNDTRACK.

5 stars for the Album. Before you spend this much on that Breakin' cd, Chaka-Khan sings most of the sound track

Why would a great movie soundtrack be so expensive since it's a used CD? & I hope that the Breakin' Soundtrack gets released again on CD's nationwide, brand new of course!
