This is one of the best bread books I have ever used! The recipes are easy and they work. I use a stand mixer with hook attachment and the dough comes out perfect every time. The ingredients are easy to find so there is no searching for that elusive exotic ingredient. I can't say enough good things about this book. If you can only buy one bread making book this would be my first choice!

This is a great cookbook for both beginners and experienced bread bakers. There are both traditional and bread machine recipes in this book. I have both his books and love them!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book, June 3, 2002

This must be the best bread baking book out there. Each recipe is accompanied by the bread machine version so there is no guessing on how it should be modified. The ingredients are easy to obtain in any market. I also love the side-bars concerning the monastic life. This makes the book a fun read on a rainy day even if you don't make any of the breads.
