This review is from: Breaking the Chains of Cocaine: Black Male Addiction and Recovery (Paperback)
This book could not get anybody to want out of addiction or stay out of it. It offered no viable solutions and was a big bunch of nothing.
The book quotes other authors for pages upon pages, a sign that the writer has nothing to say. I love Afrocentrism as much as the next brother, but I'm doubtful that is a cure for addiction to snow. He brings up stuff about melanin that I don't buy and it's just as insane as Cress Welsing's dumb-bootied ideas.
This book has cheesy photos in it. It's poorly edited and clumsy. He thanks and Kunjufu and I should have known what to expect from there. The book also assumes that all African-American men do or should follow the same religion. I find this highly bigoted and problematic.
Two bigs thumbs down! Hopefully time will erase this text from every reader's memory.
