This book is much too long and redundant. The author keeps going over the same thing in basically the same words. It is overly dramatic and anti-climactic throughout and never seems to get to the point, nor does it give concrete details concerning the ordeal Mr. Cramer esperienced. 5.0 out of 5 stars Revelation Knowledge, August 22, 2005
By
This review is from: Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers (Paperback)
Insightful articulate accurate according to the Word, this book revealed to me how easily one believer can curse another even without being aware of it. Although a believer probably would never use the word curse and deliberately address another, by our not paying attention to what we do and say, we can effectively curse another. Interestingly, Scripture addresses this issue and forbids us to do it. You will gain much insight about the effects of a curse and what to do to deal with the issue and be set free to live under the blessing. God Bless You, Real Good, Rick

4.0 out of 5 stars It Brought Back Painful Memories, and Current Praises!, February 2, 2004

I wish I had been able to read this book 25 years ago; it would have helped with the pain of being "excommunicated" from a church for no Biblical reason. The book has a lot of good information, and the solutions are presented only in the last couple of chapters. If you are looking for a deep Scriptural exegesis of the issue, it is not in this book. Nevertheless, the Scriptures are there, and the book "tells it like it is." It is easy to read and helpful; take it from one who has been there, and who has become a better person because of it (Rom. 8:28). Forgiveness is the key to healing!

I. GOD DID NOT CURSE ADAM AND EVE

What Dennis Cramer has defined is that the fall of man in Adam [1.] was such that it was merely a curse that ended with and operated in his physical death. [2.] However, God did not curse Adam or Eve with a curse, God only cursed the ground (Genesis 3:17 "cursed is the ground for thy sake" ) and the serpent (Gen. 3:14 "thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:"). So therefore, Satan alone and his food (the ground) is cursed. God did not curse man. Rather man brought death upon himself and not a curse. (Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.") Furthermore, this death was not so focused on physical death or the physical body because God said to Adam in Genesis 2:17 ""For in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." The death that Adam endured was separation from God being cast out of the Garden of God because of his sin."

II. MAN NEEDS SALVATION FROM SIN AND DEATH

Adam's "historical curse" [the Bible says death] was not something that "... ended with their death". What Dennis Cramer has done, in the very first pages of his book, is change the very reason for our Lord Jesus Christ to have to come and die for man. At the same time Cramer puts Adam in a place where he is not in need of salvation from sin, death, and Hell. Once Adam dies, according to page 4 and 5, that "curse" ends in his death.

III. THE READER IS CURSED

Galatians 1:8-9 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

2 John 1:11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

IV. ADAM DID NOT COMMIT AN UNPARDONABLE SIN.

There is no end to the curse that Cramer moves from Satan and places upon man. Christ did not die for these sins, but places those sins on the goat of separation (the scapegoat). Leviticus 16

V. GOD IS NOT THE EVIL AND VENOMOUS ONE

Dennis Cramer Page 2 "Cursing is malicious, spiteful, hateful, venomous, malevolent, begrudging, vicious, hostile, and evil. ... Satan was cursed ...Adam and Eve were cursed ...Cain was cursed." Cramer makes no separation in defining the curse [the Bible says death] as good and bad, or as the will of God for our good (Gen. 3:22), but rather by this definition of cursing as venomous our God becomes the evil venomous one, Satan.

NOTES:

[1.] Breaking Christian Curses (previously entitled Breaking Charismatic Curses) Page 3 "In the first four chapters of the Bible, however, no less than three major curses are recorded: Satan was cursed for deceiving man (Gen. 3:14-15) Adam and Eve were cursed for their act of high treason is selling out to Satan (Gen. 3:16-19) In what was the first recorded murder in the Bible, Cain was cursed for killing his brother Abel (Gen. 4:11-12)"

[2.] Breaking Christian Curses (previously entitled Breaking Charismatic Curses) Page 5 "A historical curse was the result of man forsaking God - the classic cause and effect scenario. ... For example, Adam and Eve were cursed by God because of their sin (Gen. 3:17). Cain was cursed by God because of his sin (Gen. 4:11) ... A historical curse no longer has literal, direct, or personal application today." Page 4-5 "A historical curse was suitable, even appropriate, to a single circumstance and individual. Historical curses did not pertain to a general or universal setting. ... These curses were locked into a historical setting with a historical character or characters to make a historical point: to punish the errant person or persons involved. The main character or characters suffered under the imposed curse, died and the curse "died" with them. Historically, the curse ended with their death."

4.0 out of 5 stars breaking christian curses, April 12, 2007
By
This review is from: Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers (Paperback)
this is an excellent book. very informative. i knew that christian curses existed, but many times people used the verse: an undeserved curse does not allight to try to disprove the fact that i could be affected by this. the author gave many biblical examples and verses to back up his side of the story and also gave many personal examples and other examples. i think this would be a good book to read if you suspect or know that others are cursing you and also a good book to give to another person that doesn't realize that they are cursing people. it will either open their eyes or give them better ideas, so it could help or make them worse. i reccomend this book especially to anyone who has loved church and christians for a long time and suddenly dreads going anywhere near them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everybody needs to read this book, April 22, 2008
By
This review is from: Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers (Paperback)
It's sad that this kind of activity is going on in the church but it is. I lived it. I experienced it, and it was much the same as Dennis has written about in his experiences.

As long as people in the churches are ignorant of Satan's games, people will continue to be used by Satan. It only makes sense too that the devil would send his people into the churches in order to create chaos and discord. It is the only way the enemy can reach some people who would otherwise never get caught in his traps.

Christian people today need to study and get wise to the schemes of the devil and pray for discernment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Who's "preying" over you?, March 11, 2008
This review is from: Breaking Christian Curses: Finding Freedom from Destructive Prayers (Paperback)
I had no idea that it was possible for a "christian" to curse another christian. I learned that witchcraft is not pointed hats and broomsticks. Watch the words you speak over someone so they(your words) don't fall back on you, and keep watch as to what is spoken over you. We must cast down ANY AND ALL words spoken or prayed over us that don't line up with God's WORD(Isaiah 54:17). Just as a curse is birthed with wrong words, it can be reversed with the word of God and the blood of Jesus. If you have done all you know to do and something is still not right, it could be a curse. Curses are not just generational, or self-imposed from disobedience. You must read this book. I pray it not only open your eyes, but also open your heart. If we love God, we must bless(pray) for our enemies by asking God to "forgive them, for they know not what they do" and to bless them and keep them. Be set free, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed. May God bless you & keep you.

I can relate to personal experiences of God's people, especially when I know they have a good command of scripture and will let the Holy Spirit use their practical experience from the scriptures being worked into their life and walked out in their life as a witness and encouragement to whosever will. This speaks of the mighty saving and keeping power of God toward His people as well as His desire to heal and restore what has so viciously been stolen and how the enemy can use Christian's tongues to do it.
