4.0 out of 5 stars Good Read
Aside from the grammatical errors, this story was very good and worth the purchase. A lot of inside scoop on Alana and her ex husband!

1.0 out of 5 stars There is no possible way this chick had this book edited
It would have been nice maybe if the author had some help writing this book. I have bad grammar, but this is a published book! If she had a ghostwriter to maybe develop her childhood stories, or show some insight, this would have sold better. As for the story on Mos Def, who is my music hero..........I don't know. Still, granted its an interesting read, women who think sex...

If she had a ghostwriter to maybe develop her childhood stories, or show some insight, this would have sold better. As for the story on Mos Def, who is my music hero..........I don't know. Still, granted its an interesting read, women who think sex is the only thing they've got. At the end of the book you find that she really hasn't learned anything from her escapades, and you can probably put this book in the pile of rap video chicks who sleep with the artist and write a tell all book. There is no breaking of any code, we all know this stuff goes down. My final review for this book would be if you have an hour to spare, go ahead read up. I laughed pretty hard at some choice spots, but I don't think it was meant to be funny.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Impressed, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Breaking the Code of Silence (Paperback)
I was excited about reading this book, and when I finally received it I was totally disappointed. It is poorly written and I still haven't finished it. I guess I'll finish reading it on a rainy day when I have nothing else better to do.

Please don't spend hard earned money on this book. The grammer errors are terrible, it's hard to read the book without thinking WTF.

1.0 out of 5 stars Perhaps the WORST Book Ever Published..., August 23, 2009
This review is from: Breaking the Code of Silence (Paperback)
I would never recommend reading this "book". I would not even suggest buying it as a cruel, inhumane joke for the most horrifying person in the universe. This is by far the worst published piece of garbage I have ever attempted to read. With about ten pages to go, I put the book down and decided I'd be better off drinking gasoline. There are so many grammatical errors that it's hard not to laugh at this poor girl's attempt at an autobiography. And rather than portray herself as a respectable individual, Ms. Wyatt chooses to make her readers hate her with her selfish and uneducated viewpoints. Personally, I have an extremely hard time believing any of her allegations against her former husband, Mos Def. If anything, the talented rapper should be awarded some sort of medal for putting up with such an incoherent moron. In Alana Wyatt's case, the "Code of Silence" should have remained unbroken. Forever.
